Great location on the southern end of town. Great views of the Pacific Ocean. This place has a fun atmosphere with live music and a couple parrots to greet patrons. The food is delicious and on par with what you would expect for the area. Roof top dining is a big draw for me. Down stairs is more dining, a bar and live music. Good spot and worth visit.
While driving through Laguna beach area we spotted this restaurant and decided to give it a try. We were lucky to get street parking (metered) right opposite to the restaurant.
We were there at 3:00 pm so it was not crowded. Great views of the ocean from rooftop. Service was fast. We tried salmon from happy hour menu which was priced at $19. The dish was good but if you are paying full price of $26 then I feel it is overpriced. We also ordered the Peri Peri chicken pops which was flavorful
At a conference in Irvine and took the drive to Laguna Beach. This was a random pick but SO GLAD I did. It's the perfect spot to watch the sun set with a cocktail. Excellent Happy Hour selection of drinks and food. Staff were friendly and attentive.
We sat on the rooftop and we had the most beautiful view as the sun was setting! We came around 4pm, which is during happy hour and not only are their drinks discounted, but so is their food!
I ended up ordering two spicy margaritas, chicken wings and their pork chops. The margaritas tasted great and definitely didn't lack alcohol! We got chicken wings with peri peri sauce on the side. The peri peri sauce tastes okay, it just tastes like gravy to me. I got my pork chop medium rare and it tastes amazing to me.
We did order dessert, but I think we could probably skip that next time because it was alright.
They do have a free parking lot here along with valet parking.
Amazing rooftop view with great African and American selection. The kid’s Mac and cheese was huge and the pork chop was amazing. Their brunch is good too. The birds are beautiful as well. My daughter loved them.
I recently dined at Mozambique in Laguna Beach, and I must say it was a delightful experience. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly their peri peri chicken. The flavor was exquisite, with just the right balance of heat and spices. The chicken was perfectly grilled, retaining its juiciness, and the peri peri sauce added a tantalizing kick.
The restaurant itself had a warm and inviting ambiance, making it a great spot for a casual dinner or a special occasion. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, offering excellent recommendations.
In addition to the peri peri chicken, Mozambique also offers a variety of other dishes, including seafood and steak options. The extensive wine list complements the menu nicely, allowing for a well-rounded dining experience.
Overall, I highly recommend Mozambique to anyone visiting Laguna Beach. The peri peri chicken alone is worth the visit, and the overall dining experience is one that will leave you with fond memories.
Great service from the valet to the waiters, bartenders and Management the food is amazing and the best Champagne I have ever had in my life. Breathtaking view from the roof top dining. Thank you Mozambique for making my wife and I's anniversary special.
We ordered the special of the day which was lobster tail, and we also ordered the south African beef pie. I was a little confused about why the restaurant is called Mozambique when the food is south African supposedly. I guess the peri peri chicken was introduced by the Portuguese to Mozambique where it then went to SA and became a staple there. I always thought peri peri chicken was a Portuguese dish in Mozambique. Never realized it was SA. The peri peri chicken appetizer was ok, a little dry. The samosas were good but tasted thawed and not fresh and authentic. The beef pie tasted the best but also seems a bit microwaved since the bottom of the pie was soggy.
Great food and ambiance. Peri peri chicken, soup, and halibut special were very good. Also recommend the calamari appetizer!
This place needs to install an awning. Waiters keep trying to adjust umbrellas while people are eating and customers obviously don't like it.
I ordered the burger and it came with a hige patty which was grilled really good. Portabello mushroom appetizer is also pretty delicious. Don't forget to get their peri peri sauce. It is a must try
