Quaint historic venue for a restaurant. The inside of the building has been preserved quite well. The food was delectable. I ordered the Gulf Fish Acadien and the other White Chocolate Bread Pudding (house favorite) for dessert. The fish was cooked to perfection and the bread puddin’ did not disappoint. I also had a nice refreshing mocktail that was unlike anything I’ve had before; Apple Sage Cider Lemonade. Ambiance was laid back—fine dining yet also casual. I must say, walking out and seeing the CVS propped right next to this 1835 classic was quite the humorous juxtaposition.

One of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had in a while. Went for mother’s day lunch when a modified menu was served. Can’t believe it’s taken me this long to eat here and now I can’t wait to go back! This is a great spot for special occasions and such a gem located in Lafayette!

The food was great and because of the reservation requirements, it was not overly busy and noisy. Only knock was I wish there was a little more light inside. Some customers had to use their cellphones to see the menu well.

We were visiting from California and a local resident recommended this restaurant. The food was excellent and had some unique, delicious flavors. The atmosphere was lovely. Our waiter, Trevor was very attentive too. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Awesome fine dining experience and experience a piece of history that is still standing today. All food is fresh, made from scratch and will guarantee to get you full. The owner came out to greet us, asked us about our dining experience and where we from and our server Louis was awesome too. If you never ate there before, I would highly recommend it. One of the best kept secrets in Lafayette.

Delicious! The Grouper with risotto and asparagus was great. The chocolate chip, coconut pecan pie was excellent. Great atmosphere. Perfect for a date night. The bar area was very quaint, with the most comfy bar stools you'll ever experience!

7/8/21 Waiter Lance was a Sweety pie to my dinner companion and me. I ordered the seafood gumbo. I was very happy that it came out HOT. There was a generous portion of seafood in the gumbo. The roux is very dark in color. It was a bit on the salty side, but not unbearably disappointing to where I couldn't still enjoy it. I also had the chicken dinner that was cooked wonderfully in a 🍄 mushroom sauce and placed atop of roasted potatoes and 2 stalks of asparagus. The chicken breasts were REALLY juicy and prepared well. I took home the pork chop meal. Wow!!!! Loved the porkchops, too!!!!! The bread pudding is tasty, too...eventhough I'm not a fan of this dessert, I was curious and wanted to try it. I will definitely be back to bring my family, future dates and guests here.

Took my wife there for our 10th anniversary. There was a card on our table that said happy anniversary signed by the staff it was a nice personal touch. It was our first time dining there I’m very happy I picked this place. Great atmosphere loads of history and just the right balance of cozy and class. Second was the other customers which is not fully under the control of the restaurant but can greatly effect the experience they fit right into the cozy/classy environment and I felt very comfortable dining there. Last but not least the food absolutely perfect we will be returning in the future.

We came for dinner during a weeknight because this is reputed to be Lafayette's best restaurant--the closest thing we have to fine dining. The wine list and cocktail menu were superb. I ordered a French 75 off menu and we were all pleased with our drinks. The starters were uninspiring (mushroom ravioli and bacon wrapped shrimp), but our daughter loved her cup of gumbo. The entrees were excellent. Duck confit, lamb, and crawfish topped snapper. Great flavors. I am a peasant of poor breeding so I expected bread with the entrees, but apparently that's not how sophisticated folks roll. No pun intended. Desserts were satisfactory. I'm of the opinion that bread pudding is an affront to both bread and dessert but my wife exclaimed that it was among the best she's tried. I loved the carrot cake. It was rich but not decadent. The atmosphere is cozy, and this historic country home is charming and romantic. Great place for a special celebration. Starters B-, Entrees A-, Desserts B, Atmosphere A-, Service A-.
