Always excellent margaritas & tacos. The margaritas are strong & smooth & they don't wash down the flavor by adding Triple Sec (so no Triple Sec in these). Plus the tacos are made from quality fresh ingredients. So don't come here & get all mad bc this isn't a $.50 taco place with cheap ass margaritas. This place is pricier but oh so worth it. Whitney & Israel are the best servers.
The food is fantastic. Before dinner, I had a "red bell pepper" michilada cocktail. They keep a juicer at the bar and made the red bell pepper juice fresh right then. Awesome michiliada. But even better was the selection of high quality tequilas(during dinner) and Mezcal(after dinner). It IS a Mexican restaurant....bring the culture.
Very very cute cantina! They have pretty much open seating but you can sit at the bar if you want. We sat outside and enjoyed the ambience and the weather. We ordered all the tacos and a margarita.
I loved the smoothness of the margarita but the bf thought it could've been stronger. The tacos took a while to come and some were excellent, others just ok. From the most to least liked - mushroom (don't care if you're meat eater or not, if you don't have allergies to mushrooms or cheese, EAT THIS), chicken (tasted like Indian curry), Baja fish and fries fish (the pineapple was a little weird), the steak (the bf liked this more, I thought it was a little plain) and finally the fried avocado. We both agreed we did NOT like the avocado one at all. The rice and beans with the tacos were very nicely cooked and we enjoyed them.
They take their time. Please read that they have added a 3.5% surcharge for all orders. All in all decent place. Nice to hangout and chat while you wait on the food.
New favorite! The food was so good! Homemade, authentic flavors. Ask for Dana, she's fantastic. Very sweet and takes good care of you. Jose, the bartender knows his stuff and is very helpful too.
This spot is a new favorite, and we are already wanting to come back.
Creative dishes, served in a distinct ambience. The taste is geared more towards a wide audience, with the flavors being muted. Try the fresh guacamole as well as wood fired salsa. The sweet potato dish, mussels, and chicken tacos - all great. Service at the restaurant is attentive and nice.
Ever bite into a fish taco and think "this could have been better"? This is that better. Quality ingredients through and through with precise attention to flavor and detail create an elevated Mexican style contrasting the casual breezy ambiance. From tender fresh blue corn tortillas to the sweet smoky house salsa and especially the moist tender perfectly cooked fish these are tacos made with heart and soul. More expensive than the taco truck but worth every penny. Add in happy hour margaritas, micheladas and beers from 3-6 and you've got yourself a real winner after an afternoon at the beach. Seating was socially distanced with appropriate face coverings and both touch less menu and touch less pay options were available. Credit/debit cards only.
Cool vibe with colorful graffiti on the walls. Blue crab and corn soup was sweet and refreshing. Good margaritas. The steamed mussels and shrimp came in a rich broth that was delicious with the grilled bread. The fish taco was sadly disappointing - the flavors did not meld although the fish was flaky soft. The carnitas taco was much better in flavor. The Service was pretty slow though waitress was very sweet. Milanese sandwich was huge and although the chicken was very thin it was moist and had a delicious breading.
This was the first restaurant I ate at when I had moved to San Diego, 2 years ago! So delicious! This time I ordered the chicken enchiladas, so full of flavor and lots of love!!! The service is excellent, so friendly and helpful, and the ambiance is so colorful... a very Coco feel :) love it!
Life is not the same after having the grilled fish taco. The fish is so smoky the taste lingers after it’s long gone. Hands down the best fish taco I have ever had. I also love the pickled jalapeño that’s not salty but sweet. The flavor is very unique.
Happened to be in La Jolla for a morning walk with my family and we decided to get breakfast. We were actually headed to another restaurant but saw this place from across the street and decided to give it a try. Best Decision! Food was so tasty and flavorful. We ordered the chilaquiles (just enough spice, not too spicy), the huevos rancheros & the oh so yummy tres leches french toast (my favorite). Ordered the Jamaica and it was perfect. This place is incredible! Loved their food, their service, and the atmosphere! Definitely recommend this place and will be back again!
An amazing taco. The atmosphere here is amazing. Views of the sunset if I to the pacific galaxy taco is the best taco shop in the shores and probably lajolla. The fired fish taco is a must absolutely delicious. Staff are extremely professional.
I had the lengua en salsa verde and steak cactus salsa tacos, they come in a tasty blue corn tortilla at the perfect size and texture.
We ordered a side of guacamole and charred salsa and it was just perfect taste, nice sharing size and lots of crunchy troops (tortilla chips).
The place is surrounded by nice artwork murals by a local artist and signed by famous chefs and personalities. The best one is inside the ladies restroom.
Good and huge selection on alcohol which we didn't have this time, maybe next time we visit?
Clean and great service.
