I have known Norma for 40+ years back to when she was a waitress at The Walk-In Diner on West Morton Avenue in Jacksonville. Norma's name and reputation has always been associated with down home country style cooking and meals. Norma's place now is no different! A friendly atmosphere is their everyday special! A place you'all enjoy and want to return to for another meal! Breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven days a week!
It had pretty good food and I love all the accessories In there! And it was the perfect place for me, my family to eat at before I went to my aunt Julie's house and then until January 2nd I had to leave to go back to Missouri..! But anyway perfect place for family to go out and eat and have really nice accessories on the walls and everywhere...!
Drove to Jacksonville IL to support a local business. Place is hidden just east of the town square. Very nice decor in old vintage items. Staff cleaned all surfaces before seating the next guest. Food was quite tasty. Definitely a return visit here. Grilled tenderloin special at $10.95.
This little off the square cafe was very "homey" feeling -- filled with what I think were locals. That's how I knew I was in the right place -- ALWAYS try to find where the locals go, they know who has the best food! I was not disappointed.
What i was super impressed with was that their staff knew SIGN LANGUAGE! a group of deaf patrons was there and their waitress was signing to them. I am not deaf, but I gave an extra star on my review simply because I appreciate it that they take the time to make ALL their customers feel welcome!
So much great food, affordably. Wonderful, friendly waitresses. And Owner, Norma, is a beautiful, hospitable lady who cares about her employees and customers alike. Breakfasts at Norma's is the the absolute best, in my opinion! Try a veggie omelet . Yummm!

I just want to say awesome and amazing food and service. This morning November 1st 2021 was my first time eating there and I loved it. Also the prices are very good I highly recommend eating here any time of the day. Thank you so much plus I put my order in my fiance's John's name. I definitely will be ordering from here more often 🙂
Home cooking just like Grandma use to.
Food is down home style home cooking, eggs fried to perfection, bacon the same way not to crispy and not to soft. I really enjoy this little restaurant. Food is always amazing! The folks taking care of you meal are really friendly. This is a little slice of food HEAVEN.
Unfortunately, Norma has retired, but, the business is still open under the name of Kim's cafe. They serve the best breakfast and to get the breakfast ham is a must. The staff is very friendly and pleasant. They can take a joke, but be prepared to get one back. Highly recommend.
