Good food/views/service. On a recent trip to Indy we went to two restaurants, The Eagle's Nest and 1913.

The Eagle's Nest is atop the Hyatt Hotel and it is a rotating restaurant. We've been going to lots of top floor restaurants lately in our travels and I must say that this one has the best view, even if it wasn't as tall as Carriage Insignia in Detroit or The Signature Room (95th floor) in Chicago. The Signature Room, for instance, has in fact, bad tables. I think every table at TEN had the same, wonderful, view (and hey, it revolves!)

Service was very good from the hostess to the many staff who attended to our needs. Everyone was pleasant and attentive. I never wanted for refills. We felt very welcome and were well cared for.

I had the crab crusted halibut and french onion soup. Soup was excellent (as was the bread basket). I would have liked a large portion perhaps. The Halibut was very good, it also came with roasted potatoes, diced, and a bed of wilted spinach. The spinach was perhaps the only miss, it was spinach, it needed to be creamed spinach, maybe some feta, something. It was plain.

My wife had the duck breast, which was very good (I know, I finished it, the benefits of marriage). It came with some mashed potatoes which were also bland.

We both had and liked our desserts.

Worst part? The chairs and tables. The chairs are incredibly low, and I'm 6'5, there was no way for me to sit comfortably. Making it worse, the table bases are very large, square, and 2-3 inches high. so the chairs are short, and the table bases artificially raise up the floor, there was no room for my legs. My wife had the opposite problem. The chairs being so short she was lower than she liked to the table. I really liked this restaurant, but if I were to change something, I would get all new tables and chairs.

That.... and I would season the sides better (my spinach, wife's potatoes). The main parts of each dish were excellent though, and the service was A+.

Now a comparison. We also got a bottle of wine, the exact same wine bottle we got at 1913 two days earlier, I mean the exact same. We paid $40 for this bottle at The Eagle's Nest, we paid $48 for it at 1913. 1913 is just off a hotel lobby on the ground floor, The Eagle's Nest rotates on the floor, I expect to pay a view premium at a restaurant like TEN, but that our wine was cheaper than at 1913. So, for what it is, TEN appears to have value.

Charcuterie appetizer locally sourced was OUTSTANDING! Breads were fresh and well executed. Filet was cooked as ordered with a flavorful demi, prime rib spot on. Kitchen staff hit all the marks.

Service staff was adequate, just did not match the level of the food quality. Did not appear as if front of house was excited about being there. Slow with drinks and follow up-Back of the house was by far the star. Looking forward to the game menu on next trip.

Will definitely return with an eye toward a better service experience.

About the only thing more wonderful than a fantastic dinner is a fantastic dinner with a view. The Eagles Nest will provide you with adequate coverage on both fronts, but not extraordinary.

My wife has been wanting to try the Eagles Nest for some time now, and our recent trip to Indianapolis afforded us that opportunity. By our estimation, our dinner was good; it was not particularly memorable, but we left quite satisfied. I ordered the rack of elk, which incidentally, wasn't even a rack, but rather to French chops. My wife ordered the fillet. Both were cooked to perfection, and served with well seasoned accompaniment. The escargot, which is how we started, was also quite pleasant. As my wife said, "finally someone who knows how to cook wild rice". On the other hand, there was very little originality or experimentation within the menu. In fact, some of the food seemed almost trite (Like the overuse and arguably, abuse, of truffle oil). And, with so many wonderful steakhouses within blocks of the Eagles Nest, I'm not sure we were consuming the absolute best meat our money could buy on that Thursday evening.

The view, particularly when our dinner started, was primarily of factories and parking lots. Nonetheless, after we had been there a while, and the restaurant had rotated 180°, we were treated to a beautiful Indy skyline. Quick critique: the windows were atrociously dirty, with smudges and dried liquids obscuring what would otherwise have been an incredible sunset.

Having been a server in upscale restaurants when younger, I am somewhat particular about restaurant service. Our server did an adequate job of bringing us our food, if not a little slowly, but offered no value added whatsoever. Her description of the daily special came only upon request, and was limited to a listing of its ingredients. No adverbs, no adjectives, no imagery. Just the ingredients. With gratuity amounting to nearly $30, I have come to expect a little more.

In total, we were satisfied with our evening. I doubt we will return, as we were not left with the desire to do so, but we were also not disappointed either. When compared to other options in the neighborhood, I just don't think the Eagles Nest is worth it. On the other hand, when compared to other rotating, touristy, restaurants atop buildings and towers (establishments in Dallas and San Antonio come to mind), I'd say the Eagles Nest does a pretty decent job.

Expensive food but very DELICIOUS!!!. One of kind restaurant. It rotates very slowly and you will see downtown Indy 360. We came here for our New Year's eve Dinner. Special Dinner Four course meal was set and priced well. Very accomodating receptionist, service was very good. Food is the Best...Delicious and it was a big meal which is worth the price. Overall great experienced and highly recommended for couples. I do not recommend bringing small kids as a courtesy to people that wants a quiet romantic dinner. Although the place is very entertaining for kids so as a parent if you think you can control you kids and they will behave and you are willing to pay for a pricey food then I would suggest to bring your kids with you. :)

Excellent. Our food and service was excellent. Craig was our server and was very polite and helpful. We each had drinks, an appetizer (the buffalo mozzarella dish), a salad, entrees, and dessert. My pasta was delicious, and so was the appetizer we split. We were absolutely stuffed, but wanted to try a dessert so we go it to-go. Everything was great, even the view after we got used to the spinning. It was not busy at all for a Thursday evening, but we had reservations anyway. We were well-prepared to spend a lot that evening, but we still felt the bill was a little too high.

Overall, it was a great night and I can't complain about the food or service. It'll just probably be a while before we come back with the prices the way they are.

View was great. Service was a step above the rest. Most polite and attentive waiter we've ever had. Food came out quick and tasted great. Other restaurants could learn a lot from this place

A pleasant surprise sums it up for me. Wasn't sure what to expect given this is a hotel restaurant and some less than stellar reviews. We stepped off the elevator and were warmly greeted and seated quickly. Our service was prompt and friendly. The views of the city are magnificent! The restaurant has been remodeled on the inside, it has what I would call a fresh modern look. The menu also appears to have been simplified dramatically. Probably a good thing, so they can focus on just a few specialties. I don't recall seeing a steak on the menu. We had the prime rib (delicious), though the rack of elk was tempting. Mixed green salads were also fantastic. Dessert was a little small, but that's ok, we were stuffed by that point. Not a cheap date by any means, but I felt the experience was in line with the cost. You can skip the booze and some extras to make it a cheaper but still nice date. Also check restaurant dot com for some savings.

It's on the top floor for a reason.. It's the rotating Restaurant on top of the Hyatt. We went around 1.5 times during dinner. Woo hoo!

Top floor. Top food. Seriously.

Okay, on to the food.

My date had the Onion Soup and the Cordon Bleu. I had the Organic Greens and the 18oz Prime Rib.

I'm not a swineater, but she gave me a bite of the Bleu and it was okay for Blue. (Just kidding, it was tasty). She enjoyed the Soup and the Chicken, and even took some home. (Her stomach is smaller than mine)

Now..I had no idea that our server (smoking hot blonde with blue eyes that were outta this world.. ahem) would come back with this ginormous sized Prime Rib (and mashed cheese potatoes) on a hot plate and plop it down in front of me.

Ms. Wholesome (my date) says, "I'm pretty sure you'll have some nice leftovers, huh?

Are you kidding me????

BULLSHIGGITY! I SMASHED that sucka.

It was THE BEST hunk of Prime Rib I've ever tasted. It had to be USDA Prime Select. (Don't hate on my knowledge of Prime Rib, okay? LOL) It was relatively lean for a cut of that type.

I'd have it again. Without question!

We didn't have dessert, but we will next time.

Most of things on their menu looked appealing. I might try something else next time... maybe. :)

Very Fond Memories From Here. It is overpriced, but it is someplace everyone should go once. Enjoy the food, wine and the view. Take someone you want to visit with and enjoy.

Fun place. Most people have said the food at the Eagle's Nest is not particularly good, although the view is awesome. I thought the food was actually quite good, but it's very unimaginative, and the servings are enormous -- to match the equally enormous price. Still, it's a fun place with friendly, attentive service, and the view is very nice, especially after dark.

My husband and I went for our anniversary which is also Christmas Eve! The food is exquisite and I mean my taste buds were jumping!!! The staff is so sweet. We talked with them and really enjoyed their company. From the girls filling our water to Renae our server and Amiga Sanchez to Ruby the manager they all come across as genuine. The atmosphere is magnificent as you can see Indianapolis from the high top of the Hyatt, thus the name Eagles Nest. It is expensive but the food is worth it.

Place is cozy, it was great experience. ambiance is quite peaceful and the restaurant is clean. It’s my first time with this kind of revolving dining restaurant, we enjoyed the view we almost saw the entire city of Indianapolis. Food was palatable, Service was excellent our server was Anthony he did a very good job. We met their Manager Ms. Ruby she is nice and professional. Dining experience was overall satisfying. definitely we will be back.

Very nice and eloquent restaurant!! The food tasted great but honestly you can get just as good tasting food at a cheaper price. Our waitress wasn't the most attentive. But overall it was a nice experience, it's really cool to be in a spinning restaurant!!

This is a wonderful restaurant experience! The food was delicious and our drinks were great. The service was not as good as we had hoped. We were told by the waiter we would have fresh bread and never received any. We only got one of the starters we asked for, and the waiter was very unattentive.

An amazing restaurant with views for days. The ambiance at night makes for an even better experience but low quality pictures. The food was delicious and dessert even better. We did make reservations ahead of time, but should have planned to watched the sunset! No matter where you sit, you will get views.

This was easily one of the best dinner experiences I’ve ever had. My fiancée and I had been talking about eating here for years and finally decided to treat ourselves to a night out, and it was worth every penny. The atmosphere is perfect: the slowly rotating restaurant gives amazing views of downtown Indianapolis, complete with the golden colors of the evening sun. Our server - Renee - was incredibly friendly, kind, personable, and sweet, and offered to take photos of us when the lighting was right. And, of course, the food was DELECTABLE. We got the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer, the pork chop and sea bass for dinner, and the chocolate-hazelnut mousse cake, and every food item was even better than the last. Is it expensive? Yes, but if you’re willing to splurge on a memorable and delicious night out in Indy, it’s totally worth the money. For a fine dining experience like no other, look no further than The Eagle’s Nest.

We stayed at the Hyatt and wanted to check out their revolving restaurant. After we checked in, we went to the 20th floor to see the layout. The hostess was nice enough to let us walk around in our casual clothes (well before the dinner hour). She said there was a lounge, but there really isn't. After our walk around, she said they used to have a lounge, but during Covid they made it more seating. A server named Anja P. was standing at the host stand and was so friendly and nice, that we asked if she could be our server. She was fantastic! We'd had a late lunch, so basically ordered drinks and appetizers for dinner. She said if we didn't like the crab cakes (we did), she'd bring us a different appetizer. My husband had the Chopped salad, but it wasn't chopped. I had the burrata salad and it was good. Drinks were good pours, but we don't prefer the large ice cubes. The rotation takes around 1.5 hours, and we were able to see everything... including the sun set, and later the rising almost-full moon. It is a fun and unique thing to do!
