Always fresh, high quality food. More expensive than most buffets in the area but you get what you pay for! Fresh sashimi, sushi, ramen bar, tempura fish, shrimp and veggies, perfectly cooked salmon and saba, extremely tender teriyaki kabobs and so much more. Then there is the dessert bar! Panna Cotta, Pecan Pie Bites, Green tea and Macha cream puffs, Creme Brulee, Tiramisu and so much more! I highly recommend this place!!

If you like sushi this is the place. A sushi and Japanese buffet its a lil pricy but about the same as two rolls at most places. I stop here when ever I'm around the north Houston area.

One of the best Japanese buffets in town. Sushi, soups and tempura, it's all here. Don't forget to ask for some green tea ice cream at the end.

Great price for what you get. The only thing I'd improve would be the variety of options. The most adventurous item on the buffet was spicy tuna rolls...which is pretty standard in my book. The quality for the price is the real winner here.

Outstanding Japanese Buffet!. Forget those Chinese buffets, you gotta experience Tokyo One Greens Rd. Outstanding tempura style shrimp, veggies & fish. Also, oyster rolls and scallops on a skewer are excellent. Kinchi tastes homemade. Even cream brulee on the desert bar. More expensive than other buffets, this Japenese buffet is a cut above in terms of fresh, quality ingredients and variety. Not to mention it's the first time I can remember eating Japanese and leaving full.

Excellent quality, super fresh, sushi and sashimi. Large variety of salads, made to order soups, and hot pots. Also selections for non sushi eaters. High quality desserts. Good service, very clean buffet areas. We will be back!

LOVE it!!. When i feel like splurging, this is the place for me. it has a great variety of foods, but the sushi is kind of generic to me, not to mention a bit heavy (deep fried). the soup broth for ramen was really salty though. what sets them apart is their desserts; they're probably the only buffet i know of that has great desserts. the cakes and mousses aren't bland and dry. the panna cotta and specialty ice cream are the best. i would definitely recommend the plum ice cream if you're there for dinner. occasionally they don't have plum ice cream around lunch time.
i once had a bad experience with one of the waitresses; a friend had ordered water, while i asked for ice water. we didn't think this would make a difference, but i guess since my friend didn't say "ice", the waitress took this to mean "hot water". when she brought out the hot water, she made a fuss about how he asked for hot water and was reluctant to get him a glass of ice water. really, it's just water; i don't know why we had to argue about it in the first place.

I love it but my wife doesn't. I would recommend Tokyo One to anyone who likes sushi. My wife likes the California Roll style Sushi but not sashimi. Although they have a very comprehensive hot food buffet and sushi/sashimi she just doesn't care for it. The freshness is top notch. The facility is immaculately clean as well which really helps in a buffet style sushi joint. We used to enjoy Kirin on 1960 but the place just started to get that movie theatre type smell to it after a year or so. Tokyo 1 has a great flash-boil ramen/udon bar and salad component as well. The presentation gets a 4.5 at least IMHO. Drink refills are frequent and the wait staff is very attentive. I thought their price of around $20 each was very reasonable. I took a buddy there for a 2 hour gorge-lunch one day and believe it was under $11 for the works. They even had 1/2 dungenous crab which really suprised me. It was not good...but I don't believe I like crab so I don't think it is their fault since this was my first and only Dungenous.

Oh yea...their sweets are adequate as well but save room for the custom crafted ice cream that they will offer after you are finished eating.

Arguably one of the best japanese buffet restaurants on houston. Large sushi bar, fresh oysters, large crab legs, lamb, even made to order teppenyaki

The best all-you- can-eat Japanese food venue I've found. Huge menu, including hit pots, seafood, tempura, sushi (of course), and more. Very reasonable pricing as well.

Prices clearly posted at the host stand. Service was amazing, never let my drink empty. Sushi variety was great and well stocked. Very good! What I think was cheesecake was bad and I'd like more fruit options and hot tea options as they only have green tea, nothing caffeine free. Very clean too.

Took the family out here to try it out. Service was excellent, food quality was great tasting an fresh. Perfect first impression. Only thing that I would change is the seaters dressing a little better sweat pants is a no in my opinion unless your working in the kitchen out of sight

Came to celebrate my co-workers birthday party on Tuesday night! Food was so good and fresh with reasonable price! Thought it would be better if they sing a happy birthday song like Mexican restaurants do.... Maybe they can sing it in Chinese or Japanese or Thai! Something unique.... Just a thought :)

This is our first visit to this restaurant after pandemic. For seafood, the oyster is very fresh and tasty. Snow crab legs were big and always available. Live crawfish was a big surprise for us. Sea snails were pretty good. Sashimi was fresh. Ordered a medium steak with teriyaki sauce on the side. Really enjoy fresh and custom-made steak.

Great buffet for the price! There is plenty of various styles of sushi, and the sashimi is super fresh. There's your basic chinese buffet section with very tasty options. They also have some octopus dishes that were very flavorful. The service was attentive and on point. I left fully satisfied and I will be back many times.

2/18/2023 UPDATE— They’re back!! Not quite the same, but absolutely close enough. Weekend lunch buffet - $16.99., weekday $14.99. Standouts— Octopus balls were real good. Fried noodles were seasoned nicely and texture not beat to death. Really loved the Tonkotsu soup. Differences— Didn’t see the cooked crab legs—which is fine. It was too much work to eat them. No specialty ice cream (red bean, green bean)—just strawberry, chocolate and vanilla. Tempura shrimp (greasy) and green beans (soggy) not as fabulous as before. Nice fresh flowers/plants. Everything was so fresh and so clean, clean! We’ll definitely be back. PREVIOUSLY— Good news— Tokyo is back with the same amazing tempura shrimp and perfectly cooked green beans. Bad news—besides the same tired decor, that’s where the similarities end. Disclaimer—this is the only place I have eaten/tried hotpot. And I realized.I’m not a fan. For $28 (weekend buffet ) and $14.99 weekday lunch buffet - you, too, can sit at a table and basically make your own soup until you just get tired of doing so. No thanks. Select broth, spice level, proteins and they bring them to you. Get up to pick items (veggies, etc.) to add. Sadly, the broths were flavorless. Even the spiciest was just oily, not even hot. It took more than two years for Tokyo to come back from the pandemic. Every week, I would drive by hoping they were revamping or working on something fabulous. Nope. You’ll see even the same plastic flowers in the same exact place. It’s like they don’t even care. I m nowhere near the place for lunch- those fabulous green beans and shrimp tempura. Hopefully, their hotpot game has stepped up, as we went their first weeekend they opened.

Entering this place, the atmosphere is nice and organized. The waiter helped my family and I to a table promptly. There’s a rectangular island in the middle that serves sushi and seafood. Another area on the back has a few select items that are interesting to get. I got two of each and tasted one each with and without soy sauce/wasabi. There are people who make the sushi in front of you when needed so that is good to see. The texture and flavors of all the sushi I tasted are great! Nothing seemed off about anything. Great expectations. I got a second plate that consisted of: Takoyaki, grilled shrimp, mussels (one has cheese and garnish? while the other one I got from the rectangular island), beef, and frog legs that I rarely try. The crab meat on the bottom of the image my parents helped me open. You would have to ask the waiters/waitresses for a crab opener. The takoyaki had a nice color to it and once you bite, the texture seems off. I expected the texture to be fluffy but it was like a creamy liquid. It is probably the filling. The flavor of the takoyaki is good overall. The beef has amazing texture, seasoned well, and the flavor has a nice garlicky, beefy taste. Just a bit oily since it was rested for awhile on the buffet plate. I bet it would’ve tasted way better when it was cooked before I got some. The frog legs are crispy with a nice bite. Salty and taste like chicken. I rarely eat frog legs but these are great to whoever don’t eat frog legs or scared to eat. The grilled shrimp is crispy but very salty to my liking. One of my family members like it though, just not my preference. The mussels are mediocre at best. The crab legs are long and the meat is sweet, love it! I tried the raw oysters with lemon and it didn’t taste fresh. Had to keep one under the napkin unfortunately since I can’t eat the second one. Overall, 4/5. I would go here as a recommendation from anyone, but won’t go here as often since it’s a bit expensive for 31 bucks per member on a Sunday.

After seeing it was reopened it was closed for over two years, I was happy to revisit this place. I went here during lunch on a Saturday were they offer a limited menu. It was so limited that it left me with a conundrum in figuring what else I can eat since I pretty much tried everything I wanted by the second trip. I can't complain about the execution of the cooking as that was good, but I expected to have hot pot which I saw was only available for dinner. I did like the sushi. Fish was in very good shape, especially the salmon. Rice is sort of firm and lightly seasoned. However the rolls are large and have too much rice, but its a buffet - I cant be too hard. The hibachi shrimp was very good as well. It was tossed in a sweet chili seasoning. The sizing of the shrimp was the 16-20 variety. The hibachi beef was done medium well, but was bizarrely seasoned with sausage seasoning. I ate a good amount, but I was thrown off by that. Fried rice was excellent. It was made with short grain rice it and prepared without soy sauce - my preferred method. I think it is called yang chow fried rice. Chow mein was bit limp but had excellent wok hei like the rice. Hot sour soup was made the traditional way with wood ear fungus, tofu, bamboo shoots and dried lotus flowers. It was good, but too thick The fried blue crab was good, buffet quality. It was the local kind, not thr spiny Chinese one. The grilled salmon nugget with mayo and pony sauce were good too. Flesh was firm, not dry. I would go back if I was in the area. There are no other good buffets there in terms of quality, especially the sushi. 14.99 for lunch is reasonable for the quality you get.

Very nice food with extremely nice servers and cooks! Their noodles were top notch and were by far, the best thing there. The one downside is that all of the TV's are not connected to any channels.
