Excellent Ethiopian and Eritrea food and atmosphere. The price is excellent for what you get and they have Great traditional Tea not the American type that comes in a bag. They also have traditional Honey Wine and food flavor is amazing. I got off the plane from the Carribean Islands and came straight here to eat and enjoyed they have nice smoke aroma in the air I enjoy. They're waiters/bartenders are very friendly, kind and they give you time to breath and don't pressure you like most restaurant waiters/waitress. They are very respectful and earn their tips. God bless them and this business. #©️GoodyHoodyInspectorApproved

Enjoyed our meal here. This is the first Ethiopian restaurant that I’ve been served rice with the meal. Staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. We ordered 2 vegetarian (Mesir wot and kik Alicha) and one meat entree (doro wot). The sambusa was very good—highly recommend. Vegetarian friendly. Vegan friendly.

First time to try Ethiopian cuisine. The server recommended the vegetarian platter and Girgiro tibs, which are really delicious. We really like our dishes. The owner and server are pretty welcoming. Great experience!

Lucy is by far the BEST Ethiopian food we have ever eaten. My husband and I have been frequent diners for over 10 years, and for good reason, not only is the food delicious & authentic, the owner, (whom is absolutely beautiful inside and out) & service are incredible. We feel the love and also taste it in every morsel. The atmosphere feels like we are at home enjoying a great meal, prepared by my grandmother, who has been cooking since childhood. We truly love everything about Lucy. Our server, Selam, is so sweet and attentive. As soon as we walk in, she already knows exactly what we want. She has the most radiant smile and kind demeanor. If you want the best of Everything, from food to service, Lucy is IT!

I've always wanted to try out Ethiopian cuisine and Lucy's was my first. It was a good experience but didn't quite hit the spot. The interior ambience and the hospitality was spot on though. As an Indian, I could draw some similarities with Indian cuisine. The Good: 1. Friendly waitress who took the time to explain the menu to us newbies. 2. The ambience and decor is a fusion of Ethiopian culture and modern look. 3. The food was good. Tasted like it was made fresh and the quantity was sufficient. But... Could Be Better: 1. ... the food was not as flavorful as I would have imagined it. Perhaps my Indian taste buds have ruined it for me. 2. Some of the meat dishes we ordered could have more "meat" in it.

Had the pleasure of checking out Lucy's with my friend and had a great experience for our first time. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and the food was amazing. We had their sambusa, meat and vegetable combo and it did not disappoint. A must if you are wanting great tasting Ethiopian food with amazing service.

Being a fan of different experiences, and cuisine, Lucy’s Houston hit my radar. It’s not in the part of town with the fanciest restaurants, but I was excited to enjoy Ethiopian cuisine again! Entering, I was a little thrown off, because the place looked like it had just suffered a huge wind gust, but we decided to dine at the bar, where we learned a huge party had just wrapped up. There aren’t enough kind words to express the hospitality of Mary, and Nia, the beautiful ladies who attended us. The guidance through the menu, and sharing a little about themselves was the professional, yet personable way to enjoy a new venue. I decided to order the Meat & Veggie combo to try a bit of everything, excellent decision, because each bite was delicious! The gift of T’ej, homemade Ethiopian honey wine, at the end of the night, and throne photos in the lounge were incredible! Lucy’s is a must visit for me while in Houston.

If you’ve never tried Ethiopian food, this is a good place to start. And I don’t just say that to describe their food as basic or modest. Their food hits deep and from the first bite, you realize why the Ethiopian and African community hold this place in such high regard. Staff are friendly and take time in guiding you in your culinary journey to a far away land as close as the crumbs on fingertips which you will find yourself nibbling at long after you’ve devoured all the food.

Lovely little place that makes you feel right at home. We stopped in for lunch and ordered the sambusa, a platter for 2, and some spaghetti (kids....). We also had the tea. We were very pleased with our meal. It was on the edge of our tolerance for spiciness, which means that almost anyone can eat there without worries. The food was filling and delicious. The staff were attentive, polite, and kind. There's not a negative thing I would say. I will be recommending it for future work occasions and I'm sure we'll go back.
