This place has garnered a reputation from coworkers as the place to go on the basis of one dish. That dish is the crispy brussel sprouts. And the reputation is well deserved. The sprouts' leaves are separated and fried to a crisp. It's lightly seasoned. Their fries are pretty strong. Mac and cheese is decent and a good sized portion. They have a wide selection of beers as well as a full bar. The space is spacious and staff attentive. Cost wise-pretty fair.
Lovely restaurant with patio seating. Really enjoyed the crispy brussel sprouts (ate them so quickly I didn't get a pic) as well as the mushroom appetizer and buffalo burger. Nice place to meet up with friends.
I came here for a networking event. The best part about this location is that is right in front of the rail. You can also come here for lunch and dinner as well. The food here is good. The Ambiance is great as well. There's an outside patio that's nice. I recommend sitting outside when it's a beautiful day out.
Delicious and unique food. Probably the best chicken I've ever had.
This place has become my usual spot to grab lunch. The food is great and the service, although slow when I first started going about a year ago, it's definitely up to par now. I go for the food and my waitress, Heather. She's got a great personality and I welcome the fact that she knows my usual...tea, wings and deviled eggs. I might have a crush on her, but that's not the reason I would recommend this place. It's the food and the great atmosphere.
We met a few folks that worked at this place and they invited to come check this place out. They are still putting the finishing touches on the place but it is so adorable. I love that it's spacious and has various little trinkets and wall decor. It feels authentic and unpretentious which is the best part. I have yet to try the food but the drinks and atmosphere was nice. I want to come back and try their food. Although, the World Cup is officially over this place is definitely the place to be for international sports. It has a touch of elegance and a South Africa spin on the modern day bar. If you're in the area, I definitely recommend a stop in. The parking is atrocious in the area so just suck it up and park in the garage. After that, you're off to good drinks and good company.
The food served here is phenomenal. Everything from the deviled eggs to the lamb chops is well plated always hot. They have a friendly staff that is entertaining to talk to and drink next to. The view from the balcony upstairs give you a nice lookout for downtown Houston. Would recommend to come here with a large group.
Really enjoyed this place. Went twice and wanted to go a third time. Just the right amount of everything. Good beer selection. Good cocktails. Very good food. Cool atmosphere. Just the right amount of people. When Flying Saucer is too damned crowded. Walk down here. Slight twist to most item, but not so much to be afraid of. Will go back every time I am downtown.
Very good bar/restaurant in downtown Houston. Excellent craft beer selection and a very good menu. We had the Buffalo Burger and fries. A little over cooked , but was still delicious. Service was also a little slow. Nice inside with plenty of tables and seats at the bar and a nice little patio in front.
I've been to Springbok several times, the food is very good. Don't come here expecting spicy food, even if it says 'spicy' on the menu - it just means that the food has South African seasoning on it. And the cuisine is very good - flavorful, despite the lack of spice. A lot of the condiments are house-made, and bring a unique twist on what you would normally expect.
The biggest drawback for me is that the kitchen and servers are both very slow. Don't come here for a quick lunch or if you have an appointment afterwards.
