Rustic South African restaurant that serves good food with a wonderful atmosphere and wonderful staff. It's not unusual for the Owner and Chef to meet with customers. I have been here a few times and I'm impressed every time. Go with an open mind. It's different ... That's what makes it wonderful.
Had the great pleasure of dining at the Springbok Bar in Houston recently. The food was excellent, with a great combination of fresh summer fare and traditional South African entrees. My family and friends raved about the food, atmosphere and hospitality!
The rabbit stew was flavorful and delicious. The craft beer selection was varied and satisfying. Really enjoyed myself there after a long work day. Definitely will go back, and recommend it to all.
Visit as part of a corporate party upstairs. Good (not great) choice of craft beers in cans/bottles. Great view overlooking main St. Wings and sugar coated bacon as appetizers. A nice place, recommended.
The dichotomy of this place is great; The downstairs is a restaurant classically adorned with rich wood, animal mounts, brass, and chandeliers. While the upstairs is has proven (at least from my last 2 experiences) to be quite the spot to really party hard and get a little wild.
