It's actually a good restaurant with a great view. Rarely happens as more and more get increasingly corporate, but Fishcamp seems to be keeping up a high standard.
Keep in mind that even showing up on a Monday evening, the restaurant is absolutely shoulder to shoulder, so try to make a reservation or arrive before the rush.
We had the fried greens, which were super thin and heavily breaded. The jalapeno hushpuppies, which didn't seem to have jalapeno but were saved by butter. For mains, we enjoyed the fried shrimp, seared scallops, and crab cakes.
All of the food was delicious and showed some care and thought that went into the menu.
My only complaints is that the scallops had some sauce layered on top, which wasn't described on the menu, and we never heard specials. I love something new and offbeat from the menu, but we never heard about the good stuff.
Super good time!
My family wanted some seafood after our boat ride (dolphin watching). We decided to eat here since it's was close to the pier and this restaurant did not disappoint. The menu had great items to choose from. We decided to select several items to share and try. The food came out great with no issues. Every dish was flavorful. We sat outside on the back patio with a view facing the water, and it was breathtaking (before the big storm came). The staff could've been a tad more attentative and warm welcoming, but overall, I enjoyed my experience here.
Decided on eating in after our dolphin tour. The atmosphere was really great for a couples date. We ate inside and the dim lighting and seaside table decor was perfect for us. Our server suggested the jalapeño hushpuppies as an appetizer and we are glad he did. They were so flavorful..omg..we loved them!!!! As the main course we both had the camp basket which consisted of fish, shrimp, oysters, Cole slaw, and fries. All was really good except the Cole slaw, we both did not care for that. The rest of the meal was really good and we definitely recommend stopping here!!!!
The place is very nice. They had live music when we were there. The tuna salad I had was ok. I was a little disappointed, but my husband oyster po'boy was actually very delicious. I might just order that next time we go. I am big on iced tea. Unfortunately, the one I had was terrible. I would not recommend it. What I do recommend is the calamari and dill pickle appetizer.
Very relaxing vibe at this Hilton Head eatery. The restaurant overlooks a tranquil bay while a musician plays classic mellow pop songs. The menu is predominantly from the sea, but make no mistake, their meat dishes are of the highest quality. I had the ribeye. It was juicy, tasty, and had a marvelous demi glace sauce. Although it was very hot and humid outdoors, I still opted for the chicken and vegetable soup of the day. It was excellent, and had several huge chunks of fresh chicken. For dessert, we shared a peanut butter mousse and it was outstanding; we were like vultures, and finished the dessert in no time. Our server was very friendly and accommodating, and also gave us useful tips for traveling around the island. Overall, an amazing dining experience.
So far best restaurant for us! We took a chance and got seated outside with no wait. Arrived around 5:30. It was somewhat cloudy so we were hoping for no rain. As soon as we sat down the sun started to come out. Service was excellent and all the food was wonderful. hush puppies, shrimp, flounder, oysters, and chicken finger for the kid! Views were awesome and even had some games for the family to play. We stuck around after dinner for a game of cornhole and Jenga! Will definitely be back!
My husband and I had reservations and were promptly seated. We started with the jalapeno hush puppies. They were great. My husband got the shrimp basket which was a large portion of fried shrimp and fries and coleslaw. I got the seafood risotto which was amazing. I wish we had room for dessert.
There was live music and seating in the outdoor patio which made our dinner even more enjoyable. You could walk over and sit after dinner to enjoy the music and ambiance. Food was delicious, except our kids steak was overcooked, but still tasty. Crab fashioned and stuffed flounder a must try! It was busy so I do recommend reservations
Great service! Lovely atmosphere & easy listening live music. Everything I’ve tried has been delicious including the shrimp burger, deviled eggs with fried oysters, cluster oysters, and the special shrimp and corn soup! **Amazing sunset**
We went here for my moms birthday while in HH! The atmosphere is wonderful right on the water. there was live music and activities for the kids to do. The food looked delicious. I got the fish and my husband got the lobster. 100% recommend
