Alright, so my wife and I had a seriously awesome time at Whataburger. Let me tell you, those burgers were something else – I'm talking cheesy goodness and chili cheese heaven with a side of those mind-blowing chili cheese fries. And to wash it all down, we had some lip-smacking lemonade. Our taste buds were basically doing a happy dance.
Now, here's where it gets even better. The folks there were just top-notch when it came to customer service. At the get-go, the staff was super cool. I had this last-minute change to tweak our order, and they totally rolled with it, throwing in an extra chili cheese on the house. Can you believe it? The owner himself was totally on board and made it happen. We left with giant smiles on our faces.
When our grub was ready, the chef gave us this friendly "enjoy your meal" kind of grin. And the person at the register was like the Flash – quick and courteous, getting things done. Oh, and they've got this high-tech touch too – you can actually punch in your order on a screen. Fancy, right?
Okay, here's the one teensy thing. Inside the restaurant, it was a bit warm. I mean, they've got that open kitchen thing going on, which is cool, but it made the place a tad toasty, especially if you're bringing in children.
So, summing it up – Whataburger totally rocked our world. Finger-licking burgers, service with a smile, and a comfy setting. Despite the warm vibes (literally), we're totally giving it a thumbs-up and looking forward to another round of burger bliss.
The food is great, lots of fries made separately in a gluten-free fryer. The staff is very nice and accommodating! I would give 5 stars if the restaurant was halfway clean. I'm sorry, but somebody has dropped the ball on cleaning the drink fountain and condiment containers and such. That said, my food was amazing.
We stopped in for lunch and it was delicious!The food was fast and incredibly fresh. My kids thought their Cheesy Burgers were the best that they had ever had and they loved their red velvet milk shakes. I couldn't decide what sauce to put on my burger so I asked for the chipotle mayo and the Wayback gold on the side. The onion rings were crisp and fluffy! As an FYI, Wayback Gold is their BBQ sauce mixed with mustard and it's really delightful. The staff was super upbeat. Be advised that I've come on a weekend evening and seen a very long wait time; you can order from a screen inside the building or you can order online and pick up- if it's a busy time of day I'd recommend doing that or planning on a wait.
My boyfriend got a regular beef burger, and I had the Impossible burger, and both were very tasty and well prepared. The tater tots were well fried, but we were a little disappointed by the fries, which were soggy. Overall, a tasty burger place.
One thing I did find a little annoying was being asked if I wanted to provide a tip when I ordered my food myself using the touch screen. What exactly am I tipping for when there is no service, per se? But that’s the case in many establishments these days.
My last comment is that the bathroom seemed like it could have been cleaned more frequently.
It's a fast-casual chain burger spot, but honestly was my favorite burger in Hilton Head.
Hand formed patty, soft bun, salty bacon, and fresh hot fries... this really hit the spot.
There are tables inside and outside (covered options). Stand alone building in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking and close to the bike trail.
We grabbed lunch today. Everyone enjoyed their meals!! Very tasty food, hot and fresh. Hubs said his strawberry shake was one of thr best he's ever had.
Only negative was that the restaurant was very warm. Everything is cooked to order in an open concept.
Our first time here. The people are helpful and pleasant. It's nice to have a sit-down place that still doesn't charge an arm and a leg for burgers and such. We averaged about $8.50 person due to 1 kids meal (with 5 people). It seemed family owned which it more of a reason for us to support them. Also was nice that the fries and food was not heavily salted, I rather add extra if needed. Oh.... the tater tots were awesome... has some crunch to them, very good.
Great food and quick service! We stopped in for dinner and had an enjoyable experience. Once we figured out what we wanted to eat we ordered at the counter and the staff served us our food not too long after. We got the double cheeseburger and buffalo chicken fingers then shared a larger order of fries. The taste was great and everything was cooked perfectly. We will certainly be back!
Wayback burgers have WONDERFUL burgers and hot dogs. We've met guests who were coming to stay with us for a few days at our Timeshare and they have loved it. The meat is fresh and tastes great. One can choose what toppings to have with the burger. Atmospherically it is somewhat akin to a fancier 'fast food' place, but one doesn't got there for a fancy setting.
The burgers, fries, and shakes are all great! Friendly staff, tends to be open when other places aren't. The only issue we encountered was that when we were trying to find a seat it seemed like all of their tables were sticky for some reason. Would still return.
