Aj's On Main

This place is misleading. They don't even serve beef ribs as advertised and their menu is very limited. The one posted on there page doesn't exist. They have like 5 meals and some animal shaped nuggets for the kids. I tried to call ahead to ask about their beef ribs but there was no phone number to call so we just showed up to try it. They need to fix this misleading page. I see no reason to come back for a $15 pulled brisket sandwhich. (They didn't even offer slices brisket). Oh well you live and learn.

Cool place and laid back ambiance with a rustic Texas feel to it. Deep in the heart of downtown old Grapevine. Food was ok, it just didn't hit home like I felt it would based off the recommendations.Hard 8, Lockhart's, Hutchins and Rudy's seem to be a better choice at these prices. I spent close to 75 dollars on ribs, chopped brisket, they don't have sliced, huge miss for me, coleslaw, wings, And a bbq sandwich. We both had water as well. Friendly staff and attentive.

Wanna say first the place seemed great and our server was so friendly! Props to all in food service right now. But Honestly, the food could use some sprucing up and I see it reflected in plenty of other reviews. Maybe have more sauces? And a little bit more to the salad. Just very plain and I wanted it to be more. I love supporting local and will continue to do so but this just didn't hit the mark for BBQ. Change my mind?

Our first experience definitely not our last. Currently dealing with the crunch of inability of getting products limiting the menu, AJ doesn’t disappoint. Beef brisket, pulled pork and ribs that fall off the bone, potato salad that melts in your mouth! Dinner tonight was spectacular. It was a slow night for them, we sat at the bar and had a drink while our meals were being prepared, AJ and staff were so friendly. Next time we are in we will eat in-house. Great place!

I really wanted to give this place a better rating as it has potential. It has a very small dine in area with about 10 tables and a few tables outside. There is a hometown, family-run vibe to it but the food just wasn't there. The brisket and pork ribs were super dry, almost as if they were prepared the previous day and the "baked potato" consisted of strips of potato with meat, cheese and sour cream on top, not my idea of a baked potato. The beans had too much vinegar and were not tasty. Not sure if I'd give this place another try but I'm sure the locals appreciate it more than I could.
