The best Mexican food in town!. I have been eating at Jose's for over 30 years and it is hands down the best Mexican food in GR. The enchiladas have no equal anywhere. My absolute favorite in GR!
Will drive 40 miles for it. I LOVE THEIR CHEESE!! it is so melty in your mouth! the meat is spiced just right, not too much and not too little. The portions are hearty and prices are right. I have been eating here since it was a scary lil hole in the wall. Now they have a brand new building, service is attentive and seems to be all family which is a plus for me. I haven't tried anything there that I haven't liked! Instead of beltline bar, drive a bit further down Division and eat at Jose's!!
This is one of the best Mexican eaterys I've been to in GR. Wet burritos, chalupas, tostadas and even the tacos are soo good they'll have you coming back for more and nowhere else lol
It's authentic Mexican food 🥑! With a touch of family recipes. The flavors of home are intertwined for me.... Grand Rapids is my home and Jose's is a staple, a pillar of everyday life here. So maybe I'm biased, but go get u some. PERSONAL FAVES: TOSTADA & DELUXE CHIPS CHEESE AND MEAT.
Chicken tacos were fabulous!!

The food was well worth our server not coming back to refill drink. Had to ask for bill so we could leave.
I am from FL and my mom told me about this place for the best Mexican food... Boy was she right. The best ever and the price a little high but you do get your money's worth. Food we authentic...hot... And just simply amazing. When I am back in MI Jose's will be my first stop.
It's my personal favorite for enchiladas dinner. They are sofa king good.
Just left Jose’s. Purchased Chips, Cheese, and Meat, with an extra bag of chips for $10.30. It’s two-thirds empty! I love the servers there, but each time I visit, there appears to be less and less food in the to-go dishes.
Really awesome place, great food, great people, and it’s a restaurant that is the heart of Wyoming and has been for so long!
Been going to this restaurant for decades and eating jose's cooking since the Acapulco restaurant, way back in the 80's. Will always be a favorite spot when I return to GR.

The food was solid. I enjoy these types of food places though. Smaller, more family oriented kind of atmosphere. The servers didn't entirely feel like they wanted to work there, but admittedly what food service staff does after the 5th person to yell at them that day? Regardless a good spot to get some pretty decent food.
I've been going here for over 15 years, & there's absolutely NO PLACE more authentic!
