Longhorn Steakhouse

A love place with quite attentive employees. Beautiful decor and a great salad, bread and wine. Sooooo I'm a dedicated vegetarian and the daughter of a butcher, but....my sick husband who had surgery at Shands was begging for red meat. Thus, I'm at Longhorns. I don't condemn others for eating meat but as an active environmentalist, beef on the hoof is causing massive health issues due to Methane gas is also destroying our environment and thus endangering future generations. But what do I know and I'm surely not going to say "I told you so" even as I recognize my grandchildren's children will never have the safe healthy life I've had. On the flip side killing animals is disgusting and cruel. No matter the reason. I love fake meat. It's delicious and harms nothing and no one. So those of you meat eaters without a conscious and are totally greedy and self centered....have at it.

I ordered Flo's filet mignon and was given a sirloin steak. The waiter was good he complained to the manager. They told me that they were going to correct it but they gave me another sirloin. Filet mignon is my favorite steak and I have been to Longhorn numerous times. They kept telling me that they gave me my filet. The steak they gave me was 1/4 inch thick their filet mignon is over an inch thick. Not mention their sirloin is no where near as good as their filet mignon.

We decided to have a steak night so we chose Longhorns steakhouse. Our waiter was nice and friendly and when we placed our order for two Longhorn steaks aka porterhouse steaks. When the waiter asked how we would like it cooked, we asked medium but a true medium. We explained that our experience came out well done. We wanted a warm pink center, a true medium steak. The steaks arrived and one was on the smaller side but thick and the other came out and looked great. The waiter explained that the smaller steak weighed the same as the other. It came out smaller and thicker than the other steak due to being the end of the cut. After cutting into the steaks to check for confirmation, the smaller steak was cooked medium to medium rare which was totally fine. The other was more well done which we showed the waiter. He quickly apologized and offered a new steak and would make sure they cooked it medium with a pink center. After the new steak arrived, the waiter asked to cut and check for satisfaction. The new steak appeared more well done than the original. Rather than send it back again, we showed the waiter (whom was waiting since it’s arrival) and decided to just nibble at the steak instead of waiting for a third steak. All in all, the waiter was a pleasant person but the cook was definitely off their A game tonight. Sadly, we have had better cooked steaks at Waffle House.

UPDATE: As stated previously. I love the Firecrackers. This review is for our server - ETHAN. He was great 👍 Daughter & SIL had Ethan previously and they raved about him. Well Ethan remembered them and bought them the same drinks from before. Thanks Ethan. You Are The Best! I love the Firecrackers. Mmmm, mmmm good. The strawberry salad with grilled salmon. Yes! The salad had fresh strawberries. Grapes, mandarin oranges with raspberry vinaigrette dressing. Others had the rib eye and sirloin. A very good experience which was helped by our server Matt. Thanks Longhorn Steakhouse. Thumbs up!

This Longhorn location is very nice and (unsurprisingly) very similar to others I have visited. We came quite early so I don't know how crowded it gets later in the evening, but we had a very pleasant, quiet, unhurried dinner. The bread is always fabulous and they gave me plenty of butter without even having to ask for extra. My steak was very good and my wife says her crusted grilled chicken was very good, as well Why only four stars? Nothing stood out to me as extraordinary at this location, but it's a good, solid place to have dinner.
