Very Good!. As others have noted, the place is small and not much to look at. But the food is very good and very authentic. Their tzatziki sauce is one of the most authentic around, yogurt and cucumber and not much else. The vegetables were plentiful and fresh on my gyro. Prices are reasonable, about middle of the road. I was impressed with the food quality.
Absolutely delicious! The best falafel in town. The chicken sandwich and shawarma sandwich are fantastic!
Delicious. This place is inexpensive, but sooooo good. It is very authentic and I know as my husband is Arabian and his mother is a fabulous cook. The guys here are super friendly and very accommodating. I strongly suggest you try this food and for all those who do go and are used to ordering gyro's at greek and other mediterranean food, try the shawarma- it's the arabic street sandwich and very yummy!
Good food, but not much else. This is a little hole in the wall next to bob's bar near graceland. its a great place to grab a shwarma and fries after a few beers next door. the restaurant itself is nothing special. its small, no decorations, and just kind of drab. the staff aren't usually friendly and some have trouble speaking english. and the wait times seem to be much longer than necessary, especially when they are crowded. however, the food is always great. never had a bad meal here. I usually order carry out and eat at home. don't forget to print out coupons from their website to save a couple bucks.
Must try. Food/Drinks: all good and fresh
Atmosphere: Order at the counter. small, few tables, plain, cold temp.
Service: Good
Impression: Fresh ingredients, clean
Comments: One of my favorite places. I'll drive way out of my way to eat lunch there. I have tried all the sandwiches and they are all excellent. I would eat a 10lb schwarma if they had it and still not be tired of the sandwich.
Best Falafel and Hummous in Town!. I am a devoted advocate of this restaurant. Their hummous is to die for; the fresh tahini gives it such a smooth, nutty quality that is seldom lost under the beans. They make wonderful slaws and hot sauces for their exceptionally yummy falafel; I recommend grabbing a falafel pita with everything, including their epic pickles! Although I am vegetarian, the shawarma looks very well made (and is fabulous, according to the many friends I've taken there). And what's best is this place is located next door to Bob's Bar (the Cultural Hub of the Midwest, as is printed on their barstools), where you can take your food and tuck in with a beer and some karaoke. BTW, Bob's Bar has one of the best beer selections I've seen in town. Go check out the Pita Hut and Bob's for a fabulous night!
Outstanding falafel sandwich. This place has one of the best falafel sandwiches I've had. The hot sauce is really good, which sets Pita Hut apart from many Greek/Mediterranean restaurants, the tahini sauce is flavorful, and the fries are seasoned nicely. I also tried the baklava and really enjoyed it.
Almost everything was great, but I did have a couple minor issues. The dining area, though well-maintained and clean, is a bit small. And the plastic cutlery was somewhat dusty, but easily fixed with a wipe of a napkin.
In addition to the food, the service was also excellent. The food was prepared quickly and the staff was courteous and helpful. I will definitely visit the Pita Hut again and highly recommend it.
Definitely a diamond in the rough. The place isn't much in the looks department. It's hidden in a little strip mall by graceland with something of a dive bar next door, but once you try the food you'll realize what a gem this place is. My husband and I have very different tastes but we both enjoy eating there. He orders meat, meat, and more meat, and I like to get the falafel, different salads, and hummus. We both end up fighting for each other's dishes and even find ourselves getting an order to go after we've finished dining in. And the fries are just as good as everyone says they are--they have that little extra something that makes truly addictive. I don't even usually like fries and I always end up stealing most of my hubby's. If you're reading this, and you haven't tried it, you absolutely should. Bottom line: it's super affordable so why not? As everyone else has already said, you won't regret it!
Best Sandwich in Columbus!. Amazing shawarma sandwich that gets better as you eat it, as the meat juices drip down. For vegetarians (and even those who aren't), they have an amazing falafel sandwich that I'll sometime choose instead of the shawarma. Best hummus in Columbus, and tons of other vegetarian side dishes.
The restaurant is super clean, employees are quick and friendly, and this is one of my favorite places to eat. My car has a mind of its own and turns into the Pita Hut parking lot without me even thinking about it. Make sure to print out the coupons from their web site to make a reasonably priced meal even more reasonable.
To be honest, I really don't remember who turned me on to Pita Hut 'n Grille - it may have been one of the other food bloggers ( Lisa or Rosie , perhaps?), it may have been a mention on Columbus Underground , it may have just been word of mouth. All I kno
Great place. The owner is very friendly. We came 15 mins before closing and he was still very nice to us. Suggested the best food according to our taste. Everything was fresh. Must visit 10/10
Solid little schwarma shop. Was open late night which was great after the Crew game. They use the right pita, which can make or break a schwarma. Had all the right condiments to go with it and reminded me of the little schwarma shops in Israel. Would definitely eat again
Insanely good food. The kind of place where the styrofoam takeout container is 3x heavier than you think it's going to be. Fantastic food, really clean, and the service is always good. Thanks to the owner for running a great shop.
You’ll never find shawarma better than the shawarma at pita hut. Amazing service, always makes food fresh to order, and prices are more than reasonable. You must visit!!
It is hard for me to rate this place. I got a kabab platter with the baba ganoush and hummus. The store is clean and service is attentive and friendly. But the food is not to my taste. Maybe it is a regional thing but a lot of the food has that super smokey flavor. It's not the first time I have had similarly titled dishes elsewhere that gave the same flavor as being around a chain smoker, and that's how I feel about the food I got here.
These guys rock. No matter what time of day the place is so clean and the food is always fresh and delicious. I have been a fan for years!!!!!! Everyone has to try Pita Hut in the “Ville.”
Love the food here and Mahmoud was very nice.
Place doesn't look like much but the food is good and the service is on point. Everything tastes fresh and I have gone back a few times. Even better its right next to the bar. Don't let the signage fool ya they have some pretty good options.
Best falafels in Columbus! The chicken shawarma is also very delicious. The service is always good and the food is always fresh. Just don’t forget to add the Tzatiziki Sauce to your order.
Friendly staff. Clean looking place although a little cramped.
Ordered a lamb Shawarma for myself and a Falafel platter for my mother. Both were absolutely delicious.
