The meat and eggs are sourced from local farms, in a miraculously unpretentious and affordable way, and you can taste the quality in the bacon and eggs. The biscuits and gravy are good too, a rarity from any restaurant anywhere. Good ingredients are prepared simply and humbly at this magical place, which also serves homemade pies and gooey butter cake. Only a fool wouldn't buy some pie before leaving here. This place deserves a Michelin star and landmark status. It is a rare beast in a time when Americans descend in politically divided droves upon satanic corporate facades like Cracker Barrel and Texas Roadhouse, and unwelcoming bourgeois hipster vegan avocado bruncheries selling "okay colonizer" stickers for 5 bucks a pop. If there is a line, just wait in it. Trust me. Relax and enjoy a true experience in the kind of place you worry might be vanishing from this world.
