Love this place !!
The staff are all so very helpful & friendly and the food looks & smells amazing. what i love most is that they're very generous with the portion sizes!
The atmosphere in this restaurant was fantastic. From the moment that I sat down it felt like the owners of the restaurant truly cared about whether I was enjoying my meal. It looks like it is a family owned establishment and they do a great job of making you feel like you’re a part of their family. My meal was wonderful and it felt like I was eating a meal made by my own grandmother. They also have a great variety of choices so it is was easy to find something that I liked.
Urban Kitchen is basically a mini Cheesecake Factory with an Egyptian twist. Their menu has everything from breakfast items to burgers to pasta to fried fish and traditional Egyptian fare. Their meat is halal and their menu mentions they don’t use pork or porcine products in anything.
I stopped by to try their classic burger, which was pretty good, not perfect. It could use more cheese and better quality lettuce (I opted to remove the lettuce because it did not look very fresh). Fries were very crispy and good.
For dessert, I tried their Egyptian bread pudding which was delicious. I would visit here again and try their Egyptian dishes next time. Staff were relatively attentive, but at times I was waiving and they were playing on their phones.
Overall, pleasant experience, plenty of seating and next to Cleveland Clinic.
My husband and I came here for breakfast on the Saturday as we passed through Cleveland on our way home from visiting family for Thanksgiving. The meal was outstanding, the café is super cute, and the service was perfect. I would happily eat here regularly if we lived in the area.
It was highly recommended by receptionist at Cleveland Clinic and Urban Kitchen did not disappoint! I enjoyed the Breakfast Slammer, bacon, sausage, egg, nestled between flavorful French toast. And my ace girl enjoyed her peach pecan pancakes without whipped cream. Oh, the warm maple syrup (chef kiss)…Service was great and affordable prices. We’ll be back!
The food was delicious and hot!! The service was fast!! I love that it’s not a strict restaurant “sit down”, it’s a nice mix of diner feel with authentic food!!
Food was amazing. The guy that owns it is very personable & entertaining. He goes to each table to chat & check on guests. My biggest complaint is that we didn't actually have a server so we had to ask or flag down someone for refills, napkins, etc.
I order Mashawi because I saw there’s kofta in this entree. And I know about kofta because I read The Arabic Quilt.
Anyway, I first tried the tawook, and it’s really tasty already. Then I took a bit of kofta. BANG! Even better!
Don’t forget to eat the bread, too! The side of bread and the bread soaked in the sauce of tawook gives you a flavor strike!
Lastly, I finished my dinner with baklava. It’s bottom is dressed in honey and layered with crushed nuts. The top is super crunchy fill dough. Have one and just one for dessert is great!
I ordered Molokhya on my second visit. Your pour the leafy stew on the rice. The stew is thick and a bit like geng! Maybe they use some sort of starch. And it’s extremely smooth when you eat it with rice. It just flows into your mouth.
The food was amazing I loved loved loved the art on the wall and great service ❤️ I'll definitely come back.
This is our second time here and it was delicious once again! The wings and fries were fresh and tasty. The rest of our party ordered breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed! Especially the banana strawberry smoothie!
Good food! The menu is both conventional and middle eastern (specifically Egyptian). The décor and atmosphere is nothing special but the place is clean and bright. The waiter was wonderful and pleasant. We came late in the evening after a performance and there was parking down the street 50 yards or so in front of a Walgreens that was closed. I'm not clear on parking during the day, though.
Loved the environment! Our waiter was more than amazing! Super friendly, great service!! Food was excellent! What I loved the most was the non traditional restaurant coffee style cup… looking forward to lunch again when we are in town!
