10’s across the board! been coming for years. vibes are always great. the sidewalk seating is great, off chicago ave so not a lot of traffic. bartenders and servers always great and friendly. the mussels…WOW. that plate alone will get this place a 5-star review. seriously get the mussels. the rest of the menu isn’t that extensive but who cares because the mussels are the best.

Long running classic Chicago bar & grill that remains for a reason. Interior alone worth a look. The food options are just the right number & variety. All four dishes we had were spot on prepared and portioned. The drinks are real. The fuzz is zero. Always happy at Truman's.

Food was pretty good we got the streak sandwich and fish and chips which was a lent special. Atmosphere is nice. The place was busy and not enough staff so service was slow. And we got charged an extra $3 to add onions to our sandwich which I thought was weird. Who charges $3 for onions?

The mussels and pretzels were BANGIN’! Generous portions, great quality. Nice tap list and my gin & tonic was well done. The place is always packed too which is fun. The atmosphere is outdated and kind of bland, but I don’t care because this place is a Chicago classic and I don’t always want to be at the newest hipster, gentrified, contrived, trendy bar.
Nothing wrong with a humble Chicago pub. Definitely one of the most slept-on spots on Chicago Ave!

Things haven't changed. Tuman's is still a great late night bar with an underated menu. Charcuterie platter served with some great sweet and savory pairings. The red wine cheese is spectacular. Need something from the grill? Try the Calamari, wonderfully charred and perfectly cooked on a bed of greens, ask for the pesto on the side. Kids of all ages love the tomato bisque and grilled cheese. Truly outstanding.

Sarah was awesome and had the best recommendations. I regret not getting the Roasted Amish Chicken, but the Amish Chicken tenders were great.
Definitely try the spicy margarita! The jalapeno was smooth and flavorful, but the habanero was a hit!

Such a great local staple. No frills bar and grill. The Cuban sandwich is strangely one of the best in the city and you can never go wrong with a burger. The service can be snippy about seating, especially in the summer but it’s still worth it. Dog friendly patio!

Pretty good relaxing date night spot! Good is surprisingly good. The daily specials are fantastic - just make sure you get there earlier than later because the specials will be gone quickly - they are that good! Simple no frills food and beer. Great place - must try!!

Awesome local spot with huge rotating selection of local beer and great deals on bourbon. Their food is end to end solid bar food and surprisingly good brunch options.

This is hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. It deserves 6 stars TBH. The Amish Chicken Dinner is a god among men when it comes to dinner options. The shallot gravy lava pool inside whipped mash potatoes and a cluster of char grilled broccoli support some of the tastiest chicken bits I’ve ever had. Every item on the menu is a banger. The staff are like your best friends. They pour you an honest drink and give you a spot at the bar to unwind and kvetch about work. Sarah was the first person I met at Truman’s after moving to the neighborhood and she is a legend. She gives you the living room pour of wine and knows exactly which dish beckons your fancy. I come here every week usually twice. The move is red wine with the Amish chicken dinner. You’ll get two meals out of it unless you hit the sativa before showing up. End your dinner with an old fashion equipped with the high end cherries and thank me in the morning. Tuman’s hits hard on all levels. 🤙

Tumans is a Ukrainian Village gem. Great beer selection on tap, friendly and accommodating staff, simple and relaxed atmosphere, and great food. The Amish Chicken, weather cooked of fried, is dynamite.
In the summer, awesome brunch is served on weekends, and they have outdoor seating available, where I've seen plenty of families and/or dogs there too.
