Driven by and finally decided to give it a try the other day. I got a brisket sandwich and for $5 it was well worth it and delicious. My room mate got a rib plate and the meat just melted off the bone. Give this place a chance and don't judge by the area it is well worth your money!
Barbecue is absolutely delicious. The ribs were some of the best I have ever had. This is a definitely one of my new go to places!
Love this place. I went with my family yesterday for the first time and it's so close to my house. Yes it is also a convenience store which my kids loved so they could buy whatever drink they wanted and whatever ice cream bar. But the BBQ was excellent but I should have asked for more marbled pieces of chopped brisket since I love the fat. lol sauces were good and portions were large. I got sausage and chopped brisket. My boyfriend got a two meat sandwich of sausage and chopped beef. Kids shared a sausage sandwich and a Mac and cheese. It was great. I got the potato salad that I loved and the cole slaw which was ok. Kids (ages 5 and 6) loved
their mac and cheese and ate all of their sandwich. They are usually picky eaters. I also had the banana pudding (I took it home) and boyfriend had the cobbler. Everything was great. You can eat in there or take out. They also have this Zeke Sandwich where you can try all 5 meats on one sandwich.
I just stopped in and grabbed a couple chopped Brisket sandwiches..my lands...exceptional sandwich! My daughter, who's kind of picky, absolutely inhaled her sandwich! Generous serving of meat piled on a toasted bun with red onion and pickle, sauce on the side..didn't even need the sauce..we will be coming back..excellent food and service!!
We tried this place because someone recommended it. Don't be fooled by the exterior because there is great BBQ inside. We tried the ribs, chopped brisket, and taco with pulled pork. I grabbed a rib and the meat just fell off the bone. Both the ribs and brisket were great with or without their BBQ sauce. I really couldn't decide if I wanted sauce or not. The taco was interesting at first, but it was quite good. Loved the crazy corn, coleslaw, and potato salad.
They're pretty good and people working seem nice. Was torn between brisket and ribs. No regrets going with brisket. Love that they have fried okra as well. Always nice supporting local businesses.
Update.. Ordered the Zeke today and this thing is ridiculous. I had the thought that I would be able to eat the entire thing. Probably enough for three people to get and share. I love this place.
My favorite BBQ place ever.
I've never tried any of the meats except the sliced brisket but man is it good, it's full of flavor with or without sauce. Anytime somebody comes from out of town I take them here to show them real Texas BBQ and everything they've tried they've been impressed by. I introduced my roommate to Buddy's and now he goes about every week. Some people are put off by the appearance of the place and they don't have free ice cream like some other places (if they have it at all) but it's still the best there is IMO.
If you haven't eaten here... do it. No joke. No stretching of the truth here. This is THE best barbecue that this native Texan has ever eaten. The location looks like a convenience store, but don't let that deter you from the giant portions, savory meats, and personable service you will get here. While waiting on my food, Buddy was chopping the different meats and piling them on my plate... all the while offering me samples of the amazing meal I was about to have. I will make it a point to come here from now on when I'm craving barbecue. On a side note, I really loved that the tables were dining room sets like you might have at home.
