The food was really good, ESPECIALLY the fish and chicken. They were generous with the serving sizes for the sides. I loveeddd the homemade onion rings too! I placed my order by phone and it was ready when they said it would be, so I can’t say anything about wait times or dine in experiences. I’m definitely going back for the chicken and waffles. 10/10 for me.

Nice place to chill and eat while listening to some old school R and B. They also have football on the big screen. Nice casual environment. Sapphire greeted me at the table with smiles and gratitude. Good soul food. I normally get squimish when ordering oxtales cause not everyone makes them right..and they expensive to not make it right. The oxtales here was spot on. So Tender that you can suck the meat off the bones. You don't need teeth. They are not skimpy with the amount of oxtales they serve. The cornbread taste like you eating a cake. I ordered the gizzards and it was plentiful. Not skimpy. The collard greens was a little bland but edible. I dressed it with hot sauce and pepper. Yes, they serve alcohol. Sapphire recommended the rooster drink which sounded like their version of long island tea. It sounded good but I don't drink alcohol and ordered the sweet tea instead. Most definitely did not regret coming here.

Stopped here from Fort Worth and Zee was excellent and very pleasant. The food had me smacking and roll my eyes in my head. Best food all year for my husband and I!!! Will definitely be back. I had the shrimp, rice and gravy & fries. Yes indeed!!! Please bring your food to the DFW!!!

I got the two fish & two sides for a little over $10. Catfish was flaky with a crispy, well seasoned breading. Okra was fresh, crispy and not overdone. Cheesy grits were great, after adding some salt & pepper; nice & creamy texture.

The food is 10/10!!! I mean spectacular, the music is a vibe, the food is seasoned and cooked to perfection. The drinks are strong and delicious and Zee provided me with the best service. I’m from Houston but I will make my way here every time I’m in town

We recently moved from Florida so we didn’t have any other family & friends to spend thanks giving with and due to work wasn’t able to cook so me, my husband and our three children got food from here instead of cooking this year. I called and put in a carry out order and immediately I loved the customer service. My husband went in with our three year old son to pick up the food and the owner took the time to talk with my husband and ask why we came in for thanksgiving just made small talk. The employees were all so sweet and working hard, they were sitting down eating when my husband and son were walking out and my son saw a cake that was the employees personal cake and he started pointing at it so one of the women who worked there gave him a cupcake and he still pointed at the cake and she asked my husband if he could have some and he told her yes so she went and cut into her beautiful cake and gave my son two slices for free. It was so sweet because she didn’t have to do that and it made our sons day. Once we got home we made plates and all the children were DIGGING IN two out of three are very picky and they ate it all. The Mac and cheese was amazing. I saw a review saying boxed Mac and cheese was better and I couldn’t disagree more. It was creamy and cooked perfectly! I would have liked it to have more cheese but it tasted great either way. The corn bread was sweet and crispy, just the way I like it. The chicken has a very unique seasoning that was unlike anything I tasted before IT WAS SO GOOD and very juicy not dry at all. The rice and gray had great flavor, although I would’ve liked to have more gravy with the rice it was still very good. I’ll definitely be eating here more often now that I know it has great home cooked food.

Quaint little diner that's not crowded even on a Sunday. Food was amazing and staff are friendly. One of the best fried chicken I had, crunchy batter and juicy inside.

I haven’t had southern/ soul food since my grandparents passed away and scratched that itch beyond perfection. The cheesy grits were amazing, the chicken and waffles are their specialty for a reason, the service was nice and I’ll be coming back to try more things!

I went here for the first time this week and I was blown away. The food was amazing. Chicken crispy, fish seasoned perfect, buttermilk waffle (YES!) and lemon pepper okra was the best I ever had. I saw the bad reviews about the service and atmosphere but hey, it's a soul food chicken shack! I've been to worse. The staff was friendly and yes they didn't come often but I was so busy stuffing my face, I didn't care. All I know is by time I finished my Kool Aid, they were offering to get me a refill. I had to share though, I don't need all that sweet goodness. We also had pork chops and the oxtails. Both of these dishes won me over. If you are wanting a taste of grandmas kitchen, this is the place. I will go back, for sure.
