I have been visiting the Cape as a permanent "visitor" for many years. I try every seafood platter wherever I go and Captain Kidd was by far the best! The service was pub like but who cares! It's about the FOOD! And it was great! We took home salads and chowder for lunch the next day ☺The wait for the ocean view room with a nice gas stove was well worth it! The people behind the scenes (I snooped) work their butts off! If you can appreciate attributes that go un-noticed then you should visit the Captain Kidd in Woods Hole!!

If the weather is nice, DEFINITELY eat on the deck! Gorgeous views! Cheeseburger was great $20, and the cod sandwich was nice too $17. Both come with steak fries. Lobster bisque was creamy, but didn’t taste the lobster. Quinoa salad was delicious!

Kale salad can be so good with toasted almonds and lemon vinegarette( DON'T usually like kale),Cheeseburger done meduim perfection not even needing condiments served on a egglike soft bun with Boston lettuce. Mussels with garlic peppers and onions had enough juice to sopped up with toasty white bread.Delightful servers,Julia Meredith ( especially) and Layla.Dessert- whiskey bread pudding...wow! 2nd visit even better! By the water seated at a deuce with Noah as our pleasant knowledgeable server, sampled their mussels ( the BEST!!) in a spicy tomato broth, with garlic bread. with Chopped Kale salad with shaved Parmesan and Seasonal salad ..finished with warm apple crisp with oatmeal strudel

First time at Woods Hole. Rainy, cool fall day. Went in on a whim, and liked the atmosphere a lot! Beautiful view of the boats in very cozy room with a wood stove on. The food was very good (great Waldorf chicken salad on toasted sourdough bread!) and reasonably priced. Service was prompt and friendly. We recommend

Usual spot of ours when we visit Woods Hole. The lobster roll tasted the best!

I was skeptical at first when coming to Captain Kidd as there were numerous great restaurants in the surrounding area. However, when we were greeted by our server, Joe, I knew we had made the right choice. The outside area was really big and very cool. The food was delicious, I enjoyed the swordfish tremendously. But what made my experience special was the charm and charisma of my waiter. He made everyone comfortable and shared laughs with the family. Great place, ask for Joe.

The service was without doubt, excellent. We could not fault the care and friendly nature of our server, Julia. Unfortunately, we felt the prices were not reflective to the quality of food. The Steak Frites was a welcomed dish at 35$, whilst the ‘fish n’ chips’ and ‘tuna bowl’ had little to be desired at 28$/27$. We added a couple of sides including a small side of the parmesan kale - 11$ which while pleasant was clearly overpriced. Total bill for 4 of us after food/drink tax was $232. Would go back for the atmosphere, service & for drinks but unlikely to go back for food. Thank you!

Delicious food, very pleasant staff. The food came out in a short time. Restaurant is vast and spacious to the point of rambling, even spilling out to the dock. Great nautical themes throughout! Wide open, well lit mahogany bar that is beautiful.

Cape Cod is such a beautiful place to visit, you want to enjoy the view wherever you can. One of those spot is called Captain Kidd, and is a quite nice size. The inside is large, with nice high ceiling and lots and lots of seating. The interior is heavy with woods, with big wooden fish swilling around near the ceiling. It has sort of fishing cabin feeling to it. But the best seats in the house is actually outside the house…their waterfront outdoor seating! This area is not as large as the inside, but it certainly comes with a beautiful view of the water, boats, and yes, nice breathe! We a few drinks, including Village Sangria, Harvard Cup, and Frozen Blackberry Margarita. The sangria didn't have any cut up pieces of fruits in it, which was a bit disappointing. But, the flavor itself on all the drinks were good. For food, we ordered two appetizers to share, Crispy Salt & Pepper Calamari and Crunchy Onion Rings. They were both good, addicting and disappeared quick, especially the calamari. For main, we ordered Fried Clam Plate, Simple Salad with Lobster Salad, Cape Cod Shore Dinner, Signature Lobster Roll, and Fisherman’s Platter. The food was all very tasty, drinks were good, although not excellent. The price point is a bit high on seafood dishes, but that is common in most restaurants, especially if they are offering something really fresh. So, I would say the price was worth the quality of the food we received. The portion of the food was quite good too. The service was friendly, warm and attentive. The server took a good care of us.

first time going to captain Kidd and all I gotta say is Joe trombly is the greatest server this world has ever known. I got pristine service in all areas, he continually checked up on me and how I was doing. The wait times for food and drinks was super fast and he was very attentive. He is without a doubt the greatest worker I have ever seen. Food was good too I guess
