Great little BBQ spot. Very friendly staff and a very easy going feel to the place. I got the pork plate with 2 sides. Brunswick stew and baked beans. Everything was fresh and very tasty. I loved all the sauces. I wish I could've tried everything. Maybe they'll get a nice sampler platter on the menu so I can. :)
Best BBQ in GA. I have eaten alot of BBQ in Georgia, and these guys are by far the very best! Three awesome bbq sauces to choose from, you can even buy some to take home. The baked beans are to die for! You can't make a bad choice eating at Smokin-Po-Boys! The staff is fun, friendly, by the 2nd visit you are family. I love this place.
Incredible food and incredible service! Great place for the BBQ lover! The variety of sauces you can use including sweet, sassy, and spicy are great additions to any meal!

First Impressions. First time visit and bbq was on my husbands mind. we picked up our 26 year old son and contemplated the reviews we were reading. What would we order and how would the experience turn out. I'm what you would call fussy... I've had a 14 year background in the restaurant business. also, I have been eating "clean" for two years. That means exclusively eating organic, locally grown for the most part foods... It is hard to please me in the world of dining out these days. My experience was a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere is typical of a BBQ joint. Two rooms and the usual decor. We were greater with a smile shortly after self seating. We told the waitress this was our first visit and she explained the menu and offered recommendations. we all ordered combo plates with a choice of two meats and two sides. We all chose ribs and my husband and son chose pulled pork. I ordered dark meat chicken as breast meat tends to be cooked too much. The sides were beans, fried okra, fries and brunswick stew. The ribs and pulled pork ribs were cooked tender with a good amount of smoke, the pulled pork was lean and tender. The dark meat was gone so I had to get the breast. It was for the most part dry. The sides were all very good. I didn't try the french fries as they were frozen. The beans were house made and good. I read reviews to the contrary but we all agreed these were the best side dish out of all and we liked the others very much... The brunswick stew had a good flavor ( son's) and the okra was really good. We all agreed to go back. The portions were very big with the combo ribs (3) holding a lot of meat. Good value. The sauce is a wide selection... Sneaky, Spicy, Sweetie, Sissy and Sassy. These guys once did BBQ competitions...BBQ was good without sauce on it. After the fact I learned they removed the cost of my coho plate as we had told the waitress when she asked if I liked the chicken that it was really dry. This shows they care and since I went home full and with a doggie bag the chicken was not an issue.. Try it!
Two words: PULLED PORK. This is a no-frills cute little BBQ joint in downtown Winder. The name must refer to the pork and chicken po boy sandwiches they offer, but it has your typical BBQ fare. The pulled pork is out-of-this-world. A healthy portion of juicy, smoked goodness awaits you. I also loved the creamy but simple cole slaw. The service was friendly. I cannot wait to go back!
Good BBQ. I bought a pound of pulled pork and a drink for $10.70. It was great. Usually I question whether or not I received a pound of pork, but it was more like 1.5 lbs. The sauces were great too. Service was very friendly.
Nice ribs-. 1/2 rack was a nice portion with a couple of sides - little pricy- but good stuff - ribs were fall off the bone with a nice bark- good and smokey-
Best BBQ in Georgia. I read the review that Ms. Davis wrote on this site as well as another and felt compelled to tell ya'll what my experience at Smokin Po Boys has ALWAYS been.
The food and the staff are incredible, and I have been there enough to know that they are consisitently outstanding. The Ribs are wonderful, and the Pork is always perfectly smoked. I am not a huge fan of their beans either, but that is because they are a little too sweet for my taste.
It is too bad that Ms. Davis was so disappointed, it must have been an off night for them or something, but that just leaves more for the rest of us I guess.
Wow! What a great little place! Our food was exceptionally good and for a slight inconvenience on wait they provided a free (freshly made!) Banana pudding.
I typically do not eat pudding, but this stuff was so whipped that it was fantastic! The wafers were still crunchy, too!
We will definitely be going back when we are in town again!
REALLY good! The only reason I don't give it five stars is because I have to reserve that for fine dining experiences. Enormous portions, absolutely tender juicy meats, expertly rubbed, excellent sides, really affordably priced. Very friendly staff, and a relaxed chill. My only regret is that they killed Babe. But not in vain - he was DELICIOUS 😋
You just have to experience the atmosphere you're self. Truly enjoyable it was such a joy. Very good people up there
I've lived in Auburn for almost 12 years, and passed by this place 1000 times, always saying "I should try that place one day." Well today was that day, and I wish I had gotten food from there 11 years ago. Ribs are excellent, the Brunswick stew is very good as well. I'll have to order other things off the menu one day, but I'm not gonna wait another 12 years this time.
Everything went good during my visit. One time coming. Got the pulled pork plate with baked beans and stew. Tasty. Will be going back soon
Great, as usual! Talked to one of the chefs, Tom, about his ribs. He handed us a batch of their butt rub. Great place, great people!

This would be fair competition for the best BBQ in Winder. The take out service was quick, direct and the food was still hot. I will continue to get food from here as not only is the sauce on point it is also very well priced. My girlfriend and I love it!
