I'm new to the Wilmington area and I am looking for the best places locals go. I was told this was one of those places. I would say for what I wanted, decent value to money ratio. The fried fish was excellent. They had sole, whiting and catfish on the bar. That was enough for me. The veggies and salad bar were just okay. The veggies needed more seasoning. They also had all you could eat crab legs for additional money. I did not partake I'm that, I was happy with the fried fish, mashed potatoes corn and lima beans. I would say it's okay if you want to get full and you don't mind cafeteria type food. Nothing special but you will be full when you leave. OH and gotta mention this. They had a entire bar for Cracklin . I get a kick out of that. Only in the South. They were good too !!
Best Home Cooking Around. The food is great and at a good price! I love the atmosphere there. And the owners are always pleasant and aiming to please. You have more than BBQ to choose from. So if good home cooking is what you are looking for, then Carolina BBQ on South College Road is the place to go! I eat there all the time. :-)
Best Option for Southern Catering!!!. I had Carolina BBQ cater my wedding of about 75 people with an authentic southern bbq buffet and they were amazing! The prices were unbelievably reasonable, the staff was so friendly and had everything set up and ready to go in plenty of time, and the food was so delicious my out of state guests are still raving about it! I couldn't be happier with the range and quality of food and the service was simply amazing. Absolute best deal in Wilmington and didn't jack the prices sky high when I said the word "wedding". I would reccommend this to anyone looking for a laid back yummy bbq buffet for their event!

One of the few places where you can order less than $30 worth of quality food for takeout and feed a family of four with leftovers!
Love their hush puppies but the best thing ever is their coleslaw you can tell it's made there southern home style I don't know where they got the recipe but it's a great one.
I'm a fried seafood fan as well had some of their fried seafood before but I am heading back to get me a big old fried fish platter cuz it looks so good!
The staff is always super friendly. The food is always good. I get the shrimp with greens and beans. My daughter loves the flounder filets and fried okra. The sweet tea is good. They have a candy bar now since the buffet isn't available since the pandemic.
The food was delicious and not too greasy. I got the fried flounder, fried squash, lima beans and hush puppies. Everything was very tasty and was brought out quickly.
Had lunch there yesterday with 3 friends. The food was really good! And plenty of it. My only problem was, they didn’t have fresh lemon. If I lived here, I would go back.
Super friendly! Amazing mom and pops style vibes when you walk in! Food was delicious and served in a very timely manner! Even met the owner ms.becky! Very sweet lady. Definitely a gem! Will absolutely be coming back !!
Very great food ! You can tell it's family owned when you walk in. They really make you feel like part of the family. Definitely plan on coming here again and bring the family!
I have been here numerous times over a few decades with my family and never leave hungry. This was the first time we went without the actual buffet but the servings sizes in our plates was pretty good and tasted good as always. Maybe a little too much salt in some of the food but it didn't stop us from eating. The hostess was FABULOUS!!!! She made sure we did not lack for anything. Plenty of "social distancing", very clean, and we felt extremely welcomed. Left a child down there for school - if she stays maybe she can come work there once things start to get back on track.
There is no buffet. I used to live here and we loved this place. Super bummed 😞 no buffet. Corona took is down. Super nice staff and still great food but really missed the banana pudding and everything else. Super glad you are still here tho
Friendly staff, good food and speedy service. I was looking for comfort food and i found it BBQ was tasty, hush puppies were hot and the tea was sweet. People next to me had fried chicken, which looked amazing! Keep your dollars local and give them a try.
