Sam's Of Gedney Way

Sam’s has been a staple in WP as long as I remember. And while the ambience has only gotten better, the service can use some work. The food is phenomenal and mainly why we enjoy coming back such. Been here for lunch a few times and the chicken schnitzel, the steak sandwich, the turkey and Swiss burger and the Amish chicken were prepared and cooked well. The service and attention the other hand was lacking. Our lunch entree wasn’t served until 45 minutes after being seated. Either they took too long to take our order or the meal took too long to come out. In each occasion the restaurant was not exceptionally busy. The meal which consisted of an entree and dessert for each guest took close to two hours. The food and atmosphere are great, with convenient parking, however, the service makes it tough to plan business lunches when you are on a schedule. Not sure if this is only a weekday issue since this is mostly when we’ve dined here.

Great service and amazing food! This is the best turkey burger I have ever had in my life. They actually seasoned the meat, which only serves to enhance the flavor. The turkey burger is served on a brioche bun, so the juxtaposition of sweet and savory is well balanced throughout. Also, Sam's has a great laid back atmosphere which only enhanced my evening and experience.

Food was delicious and employees were polite. However, we did find service to be slow/inattentive as we waited almost an hour for water refills (despite the fact that there were only a handful of tables between the indoor and patio seating). Nevertheless, we will be back because the food and desserts were enjoyable.

Visiting White Plains from out of town a few weeks ago, ate dinner at the bar on a Sunday evening. Super comfortable and relaxing place, good food and drinks. Lisa (I'm pretty sure I have her name right) bartends Sunday evenings, was really a breath of fresh air for us, attentive and easy to chat with. Will go back on future visits!
