Makris Diner

Solid Connecticut Diner of the silver streamliner variety - solid good food. Nice people working there. We've lived in the area for ages, and passed by this diner more times than I care to admit...but that day so many of the places which were open were crowded, so we said to each other, "What the Hey?" and went in. We are so glad that we did. It's a long time family business. Mom was behind the counter, Dad kept popping out of the kitchen, and Daughter was helping out front with very congenially taking our orders and helping serve up food and smiles. You could feel the small restauranteurs' spirit in every morsel. Ah, and the coffee - freshly ground on the premises it is low acid, velvety mouth feel, and such wonderful aroma - and you can take home a freshly ground 1 pound bag, if you like. We'll be back, often.
