Found this place thanks to a neighbor/della Barba loyalist. Was thrown off at first by the prices, but it became apparent why they cost what they cost when they arrived. The order was just for two and two pizzas was entirely too much!
We went with one Detroit style and one Nonna style. If we were to do it all again, I think we would stick to just one - with the Nonna narrowly edging out the Detroit style.

Great Detroit style pizza! The right amount of everything - just enough cheese to make a crunchy, caramelized outside (too many others overload with cheese and make a gluey, flavorless mess), savory sauce, and sausage with a touch of fennel (I think). The delivery person was super nice and, even though I had an error on my address (my fault), made sure to get the pizza to me quickly. Will definitely order again.

This place is wonderful and you will not be disappointed in the least. If you are looking for Chicago Deep Dish in DC, this is it.

Really good pizza for DC that’s easy to call in orders and pickup curbside. It an be busy, so it may take a few tries to get through on the phone, but it’s worth it. Unlike many of the “fancy” pizza places in the city that charge $20 for a personal pie, their pizzas are large enough for multiple people. Impressive NY pizzas with good crust. Look forward to trying their Sicilian, Deep Dish & Detroit styles in the future.

Great pizza but very slow, which would be understandable, except if you dare inquire about timing they’re huge jerks about it. The Detroit is amazing but I’m not a big fan of being yelled at for asking a question when I’m spending $100 on pizza.

Not a fan. Their deep dish is a bit of a doughy, Giordano’s style pie, but without the second layer of dough. Both times I ordered it, it arrived soggy and seemed to be relying on in a enormous amount of cheese . I ordered the New York style, and while the crust was excellent, the toppings were spartan at best, with the onions, green peppers and presumably mushrooms cut in less than a quarter inch dice. Pepperoni was visible, but there was barely anything else on it and it was a combo pie. I didn’t see any mushrooms, and perhaps a scattering of half inch nubs of sausage. Barely any cheese either. I should also say that it was overcooked, as the entire surface was overly browned and leathery. I get more topping from Pizza Boils and at half the price. Their crust and it may not be as good, but I’m not paying twice the money for half the pie. Horribly disappointed.

Top notch Detroit style pizza. I just wish they were open more on the weekend!

The ONLY amazing pizza in DC. Wow. I don’t know where to start. They obviously take pride in every aspect of the slice, and I’m flattered that someone in this city finally cares. Gorgeous.
