The waitress was very helpful and friendly. The soup was excellent and the Vegetable Fried Rice was perfect.
I highly recommend this place. They were fast too
Small, cozy, & DELICIOUS!!! Had a pad thai and red curry duck. Served quickly by a waitress that kept to herself most of our visit. Would definitely return👍🏼
Good summer rolls with peanut sauce, veggie delight and jasmine rice. Service was as good as the food. Lunch prices were very reasonable. We will be back...
The dinner was very good and service was awesome! Would definitely go back again.
Came with hubby. Curry puffs app (tasty, like samosas in filo dough!). Hubby (veg) had drunken noodle, i had thai iced yea (mmmm) and awesome chicken in panang curry. Was really tasty, and both dishes had a nice amount of heat. I was sad they had no duck today (Chinese New Year parade), the duck with lychee (in panang sauce!!!) sounded super tasty.
All Good Things, Absolute Thai. The one disappointing thing about this review is that I am not able to click an "I Love It" button instead of the "I Like It" button. From entry into Absolute Thai, to the ordering, to the taste and authenticity of the food, to the complete experience, this was a fantastic choice for an afternoon lunch. The Thai iced tea, tom yum shrimp soup (spicy just the way I wanted it), panang curry shrimp (which was absolute tops), and sticky rice with mango (my new favourite Thai dessert) made Absolute Thai my first favourite Thai restaurant during my visit to DC.
Some like it hot!. With most thai places you can order things to be hotter/spicier by asking for it, but i don't like to do that until i know the baseline for that restaurant. i went with the drunken noodles and was not disappointed! both chili oil and jalapenos in abundance, just a tad hotter and i'd be crying (but in a good way). nice atmosphere, good service, a simple menu with vegetarian options and decent prices. i'm hunting this down next time i find myself back in DC
Delicious! Much better than many neighboring thai restaurants. Not afraid to use a little spice!
When I first saw this place from the outside, I expected it to be a hole in the wall. I was quite surprised to find that the inside was very nice. We were quickly seated on saturday night even with the restaurant being a rather small place. The food we both ordered was delicious and the prices were quite reasonable. I would highly recommend this place and will be going again on the near future.
Good find. After choosing not to wait 45min at Rosa Mexicana and actually getting up and leaving from Green Turtle (the food didn't even look good on the menu), my date and I made the decision that saved the evening by walking over to Absolute Thai. Great cozy atmosphere - bordering on romantic if you're in the mood already. Food came out quickly, was very satisfying, and everything was under $12. Even had a good wine selection. Service was fine. Great option if looking to get off the main drag there in Chinatown and try something non-overprice and non-chain.
I like trying Tom Kah soups of Thai restaurants to understand their seasoning. Overall, their seasoning is fine, just think they might overdo a couple of things. My dishes were fine but not fantastic. It is a solid spot if you are in the area. Service was fast and friendly, prices were reasonable. I wanted a hot tea and even though they didn't have the one I wanted they hooked me up with a nicer one!
Good food. Even better drinks! We loved the lychee mixed drink and the purple one my friend had was not bad either. The appetizers we had were absolutely wonderful! The entrees were good. The service we had was kinda weird, but once the guy started helping us service was better.
Don't be fooled by the unassuming exterior, this restaurant packs a punch. The drunken noodles were fantastic.⭐ 5 ⭐ I chose the vegetable option and they were delicious. Silky smooth noodles in a savory sauce with an excellent bite. Fresh, crisp vegetables in the dish as well. The menu gives a 2 🌶️🌶️ spice warning but it wasn't very hot.
Good sized portions, fills 1 American / 2 other nationalities. My party enjoyed their Pork pad Thai, Chicken Tom Kai Gai, and Flaming Beef as well.
Service was excellent, prompt staff, with modest wait times.
The atmosphere/decor won't win awards, but who cares, you're there for the food anyways, right? 😉
Hidden gem within DC that's not well-known but serves delicious and authentic Thai food with perfect portions and incredibly kind staff. The space is cozy with some great options.
Their Pad Thai has a little bit of a crispy flavor that other places are lacking and this was a highlight of the meal. Their Massaman Curry is full of flavor and their Eggplant Tofu was also delicious. Their fried banana and ice cream was not what I'm used to, as their fried bananas came in thin tubes, but the food still tasted good.
Only downside is that they have disposable chopsticks and cups for water.
The food here was excellent - wanted to try something new so started with the yum woonsen talay appetizer which was a cold seafood salad with cellophane noodles. It did not disappoint! I recommend that if you want to try a new appetizer. It’s not too heavy either so perfect to save your appetite. For my entree, I got the Massaman yellow curry with tofu and it was a good portion, comes with plenty of jasmine rice. My friend was raving about the salmon. The Thai tea and Thai coffee are also good here.
The service was quick, friendly, and helpful. I was surprised at how few people were there during lunchtime.
I recently dined at Absolute Thai Restaurant, and it was a delightful experience. The Thai cuisine was authentic and bursting with flavors. The service was efficient and courteous. I highly recommend trying their chicken wings and red curry. I will definitely be returning for more Thai culinary delights. 👌🍛🥢
Stumbled on this place because we were in the area. The basil fried rice was delicious, and as a vegan it seems there are definitely options because she said the Pad Thai doesn’t have fish sauce. Service was very attentive and friendly.
The food was delicious! I got the garden rolls - tasted fresh and with delicious peanut sauce. I also got “Jungle” which was soooo good. I got it with the seafood, hoped for more seafood though. The spice and flavors were all perfect, I ate it all! The roasted duck was tender and juicy.
Service was great in this laid back relaxed atmosphere. Then the food was outstanding. Waitstaff recommended Roasted Duck with Red Curry. Was delicious. Multiple flavors throughout the meal. Will be back soon.
Vegetarian friendly Thai. Loved the food here. Definitely will be coming back for more Kao Soi. It was fantastic. We also ordered veg puffs & red curry which were very good. Service was amazing, we went just before they were closing but the wait staff did not rush us at all and waited patiently without hurrying us. A must visit in if you are in China town.
