Just a few years back, most of the Smithsonian museums weren’t worth eating at. That has changed - first with the Native American Museum, then the African American museum and now the Museum of Natural History. There are four signature bowls. You can add chicken, salmon, or tofu to any of them. The bowls are right at 10 bucks and it’s 3 bucks to add a protein. They also have sandwiches and desserts, a coffee bar that’s open until 5 and I saw someone with popcorn and popcorn is always good. One of us is vegan and it was so easy to accommodate that here.

I am surprised by the bad reviews here. This cafe was very good for museum food. It is healthier food where you build your own salad/grain bowl. The farro and sun-dried tomato dish was so good that I tried to re-create it when I got home. And it was so nice to have tofu available as a topping. As others have mentioned, you have to weigh your food so it can get a bit expensive. I was sort of acting like it was a buffet and ended up taking more food than I was able to eat. Be mindful of that because you can always go back and get more but you can't get a refund on what you don't eat! :)

Good for a quick bite , to take a break while surfing the museum . I order a turkey sandwich and it was good .

Very healthy and nutritious food, but not many options. Kind of expensive because you pay by the lb. There is also a ham sandwich and turkey wrap and snacks.

Yes the food is expensive but when your in DC and in a museum you shouldn’t expect to pay McDonald’s prices for food. Yes it’s expensive but our family was extremely happy with the quality of the food (for quick service). I would say it’s on par with good sporting events food.

While the prices are museum prices the food is better than most museums. To be honest there are only a few museums where the food is worth the price. This is one of them.

I was expecting the standard, subpar museum food, but I was happily surprised! There were many options for the grain bowls, and it was honestly the best lunch I'd had in a while! If I lived close by, I'd be tempted to go back to the museum just for lunch!

Not bad for museum food, and most tables were clean on a busy weekend!

As I see in a lot of the other reviews the food was very expensive. And yes, that is true, however I thought the food was pretty good.
