Delicious food, and such a cute spot! They have a pretty extensive menu and it’s quite vegetarian friendly. The service was great and we had some pretty affordable and very delicious brunch on a Sunday afternoon.

Their smile, love and warmth and the great taste of food makes up for the ambiance and location. Hands down one of the best simple guacamole I have had in this area. And do try there habanero salsa - slightly of the spicier side but a maracauy drink to top it off would just make it so smooth. Their Pescado taco was the best followed by mushroom and corn taco. The chicken tinga had some weird aftertaste to it and was just ok.

Probably one of the best Mexican places I have ever had. I have not stopped talking about this place since I’ve tried it! Literally SO damn good! I had the mussels for an appetizer and it was AMAZING. Brothers combination for the main meal the steak was to die for. Everything was so good even the chips and salsa was bomb but one thing that I really loved was the rice… SO SO SO GOOD! it’s giving 5 star but the inside is a little crowded and small. Other than that everything was delicious.. is a little on the pricey side tho but overall 10/10.

Just delicious! Tacos de canasta one of my favorites dishes at this places, you should try pambazos and chicharrón gorditas… prices are ok, the customer service is good, food the best! Try all hot sauces really good taste! Take care with habanero sauce.

I had an amazing experience visiting Mezcalero Cocina Mexicana in Washington, DC with Black Girl Taco Chronicles! The food at this restaurant is absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere is vibrant and inviting. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality, and the service was impeccable.
We sampled a variety of dishes, and each one was a true culinary delight. The flavors were bold and authentic, showcasing the rich and diverse Mexican cuisine. The tacos were a particular standout - flavorful and perfectly crafted.
The Mezcalero Cocina Mexicana is not just a restaurant; it's an experience. The ambiance is lively, making it a great place to enjoy good food with friends. The attention to detail in both the decor and the presentation of the dishes truly sets it apart.
I can't say enough about the Black Girl Taco Chronicles team, who made this dining experience even more enjoyable with their knowledge and passion for food. It was a memorable evening filled with great conversations and even better food.
If you're in Washington, DC, and looking for an authentic Mexican dining experience, Mezcalero Cocina Mexicana is a must-visit. And if you have the chance to dine with Black Girl Taco Chronicles, you're in for a treat!

This place was BOMB! We were looking to go to another place for dinner but we ended up here instead. This is one of those places where you feel the vibe just pulled you there for whatever reason. Music was also on point, and the food was delicious! Oh, and if you're a sangria fan like I am, definitely order theirs! 👍👌💯

Great flavors with spatial and ample outdoor seating. Service is friendly/attentive and they have free chips and salsa to open any order over $4. They also have $6 margaritas during happy hour. We often go for their tacos and tortas - see their al pastor pictured is especially tasty!

A great value to quality. Friendly service. Delicious, fresh chips and salads. My favorite dish was the California Fish tacos platter.

Great Mexican food in a cool setting. Delicious guacamole. Excellent tacos in a wide variety. Service was a little slow, but they may have been short-handed on new year's day.

Absolutely delicious. I haven't had chicken mole this good since I studied abroad in Mexico 7 years ago.
I highly recommend it paired with their smoky mezcal cocktail. The food is very reasonably priced which makes the decision to eat here a no-brainer.
Will be returning.

Authentic Mexican cantina vibe. Went on a Friday evening, although food could be tastier, it is compensated by offering cheap drinks, great Latin music and a colorful ambiance.

Good food. Good service
Ordered to go for this time. The salsa is ok but the chip is not stale but tastes burn and oily. The fish taco is delicious.

Be careful with the alcoholic pitchers they can be a bit spicy if asked for spice.

Excellent food and service, will be coming again! Azteca Tacos

Pretty decent Mexican food. We got the huarache with shrimp, shrimp and fish tacos, and the seafood ceviche. Our meal also came with complimentary chips and 3 different types of salsa. The mezcal cocktails are pretty good although they are overpriced. I’m glad they make it decently strong. Service is good and speedy. Overall, I’d come here again.

Food excellent, staff attentive, atmosphere - the vagrants in the area tend to accost the patrons sitting outside.
Tried fish tacos, carne asada, chorizo ( amazing), shrimp diablo - guac. All great!

Hands down the most authentic Mexican restaurant in DC. Far and above any in the DC area. Fresh, quality ingredients from the same owners as the very popular El Sol in downtown DC. Try their campeche tacos (beef, chorizo and fries), or their queso fundido with chorizo (melted oaxaca cheese with chorizo) or their tortas (Mexican street sandwiches). Opens on 1/13/17.
