Came by after work for dinner and drinks with a friend. Ended up sitting at the bar on the first floor - really nice and chill bar area - not too many people there when we first got there right after work. Started to get more packed as the night continued.
I ordered the burger and fries and a few drinks. The burger was really good and the drinks were pretty good and strong. Overall it was a nice experience and I would definitely go back to try other things on the menu and their brunch and to see what the upstairs experience is like.

LOVED the French toast supremo (a sandwich)!!! The fried chicken in the fried chicken sandwich was pretty dry but the flavors were good

Yooo my first time here with my good man, we had rounds of the Cuba Libre accompanied with some appetizers. The food and the drinks - 15/10 with exceptional service provided by AJ from Bar to Isabelle the hostess. They showed such great hospitality and service. I think I just found my new spot

Bar Pilar is a narrow bar with an upstairs dining room. We ate downstairs in the bar. It's a bar, so was a little noisy, but were still able to have a nice conversation. Service was excellent. The food was fantastic, both in presentation and how it tasted. We had the roasted vegetables, butter chicken and a dumpling appetizer - all wonderful. The cocktails were tasty and had enough alcohol in them to justify the price. I don't think you can go wrong eating here unless you are looking for someplace really quiet. I never went upstairs.

AJ (the bartender) is a SUPER homie and Isabelle (our server) was phenomenal. Food was excellent as well. Cuba Libre was off the hook, pulpo ceviche was to die for. Also the music is always on point.15/10

Came for Friday happy hour (6-8 pm). Cocktails are $10 and rail drinks are $8. Great atmosphere but service was slow. Didn't mind too much because we were having a good time, but did find it odd the waitress came to our table only a few times over the course of 3 hours. Also, 20% tip is included, which wasn't super clear on receipt.

Drinks and appetizers were top tier. Nice bar area, courtesy staff, overall chill atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

Absolutely loved the customer service here. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. It was my first time here, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The food is like an Asian and Latin fusion (shrimp tempura tacos, guac burger, or zucchini fritters with sambal sauce). Normally, I'm not a huge fan of fusion cuisine but they married the 2 cuisines perfectly here. I had the braised pork steam buns (2 per order) and the shrimp tacos (3 per order) -- Both were delicious. I especially enjoyed the shrimp tacos as they were light, but packed with flavor!!! The cocktails were also great. Would definitely love to go back and try some more, even though it's a far drive from where I live. Would absolutely recommend!! 💯

Last minute decision to come here after a reservation fell through at another place and I’m glad it did! Staff was welcoming and the food was amazing. Would def come back

If you're looking for a calmer option for dinner and drinks, you can't go wrong here. The atmosphere is quiet lively and the service is on point. Our bartender was excellent gave us great recommendations from the happy hour menu (which is extensive) all of which were good. One thing worth trying if you can make it for happy hour is the Pilar Burger; you can get bacon, burger, and chicken all on it at once and it's insane. Totally worth checking out.

We came here after being added to the Ted’s Bulletin 1hr and 45 minute wait list. If people knew how awesome the food is here, I’m guessing they wouldn’t willingly wait in that line. We ordered the pork hash and the barbecue chicken pancakes entree and the food was simply heavenly. Our server, Lissa, was wonderful too. Bloody Mary was nice and spicy. So glad we came here!
Some additional comments about the pancakes. Usually, I have to butter my pancakes and add syrup before I can dive in. This place not only butters and syrups the pancakes but as you can see, they stage the pancake with the pork belly bacon and fried chicken on top. Wish I could give 6 stars.

I usually love this place which is why i still give it a 4 but i only liked this meal. The quality of the beef i had was good but i didnt like the kimchi sauce that accompanied it. Pate was good and the dessert pie was tasty.

Amazing experience! May and Bella complimented us the moment we walked in and provided the most wonderful service, my friend and I felt like we were part of the family. Amazing food and strong drinks! Highly recommend.

Great 14th St hangout. I tried this place after a recommendation from my guys at Cloak & dagger. Very good drinks and Andy was inviting and a great bartender. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a genuine good time.

Went to Bar Pilar yesterday with my friend Genelle Balan. We are both trained chefs - and we were both floored by the food. Drinks were great and expertly mixed - the rum slushie was a treat. We started with sweet breads, which were perfect, and breaded artichoke leaves - something we had never tried before. The main courses were a beautiful Rockfish filet with fennel and a Sichuan style roasted pork shank. Truly remarkable.

Big fan EXCEPT at 4:25 pm when patio waitress refuses to even ask bartender to make a drink they were serving at 4 pm bc "that was brunch." Could understand if I ordered a food dish or requested the $ special, but just a regular, full-priced cocktail? Pretty sure the liquor was still handy.

First, it was entirely too cold in the upper floor which is odd because warm air rises. The air conditioning was on full blast, so much so that you could see the napkins dancing in the air flow. We went for brunch, I ordered a special, which was steak and eggs. The plate arrives with 2 over cooked eggs, and 2 small cubes of beef. Is that what steak & eggs has become now? Anyway, my potatoes were cooked exactly as I wanted and the bloody Mary’s were quite nice. Our main waiter was quite nice, the man who delivered our meals needed an attitude adjustment in a bad way. I don’t think I would return to this establishment with so many other options in the area.

Big fan of the place. I just wish they were a little more flexible with the brunch/regular menu. There is no proper dessert available at 4:30 pm because I had brunch earlier.

Excellent brunch spot! Their mix-and-match bottomless cocktails deal is fantastic.

I remember it like it was 8 days ago....
I had sailed from Japan to Vancouver over 14 agonizing months in raging seas full of tremendously over-sized great white sharks and died twice.
When I reached Canada, I trail-blazed through the great white north with only a 6 foot machete and a 9 foot blowtorch to protect me.
I was in search of ...the perfect bar.
I fought bears, and bears fought me. I climbed mountains through the massively rugged terrain in the Canadian wilderness to get to a watering-hole so great that only legends could keep it alive. My beard had frozen over, as well as my eyebrows and I maintained onward... broken, beaten, and bloody.
As I reached the northern United State of Maine, I had no where to go but south. I bartered a canoe from a local fisherman by the name of Ishmael and followed the coast scraping by only on candlelight and fur from the beasts of which I had slain... again and again.
When I could paddle no more, I thrust the canoe upon the great shores of Washington D.C. ... home of legends.
And out of the glimpse of my right eye, there they were...
Matt Brown, Andy O and Mat Cabral all standing there behind the bar gloriously basking in the light with chalices of Tequila-Soda's with Lime for me to quench my longing thirst for victory. They had welcomed me to my final destination... Bar Pilar.

I had the burger on my first trip. The meat to bun ratio is on point. The ramen on my second trip was a nice a light. Very flavorful! Service is on point
Djs on Friday night play classic hip hop. It's a great change of pace.

Fantastic food, attentive staff, and great atmosphere. What else could you ask for?! Will be visiting this little jem again for sure

I thought the service was very good, I thought the bartenders were great. I just think the food was slightly pricey, plus I think they could add a few more 'craft' beers to their menu. Otherwise it was good.

Great atmosphere and awesome all around place to drink

I came here with friends and was able to sample lots of the dishes. favorites were Morel Mushrooms, Lamb Belly Bolognese Gnocchi, Halibut Ceviche. Service was friendly and on point.

Excellent food. Great environment. I would go back any time.

Interesting and tasty choices of food, good service, cheerful waitress but oh so cold! Over enthusiastic air conditioning meant we had to eat with scarves and wraps on. I saw someone even kept her coat on. Too bad!
Richard Sanchez
Bar pilar. We had a great time. The atmosphere was great. The Margaritas were great. The staff was great. And the BRISKET TACOS WERE GREAT!
Danielle Glover
Mediocre overpriced food and horrible service. I'm unsure why people actually like the place.
