Went to Bar Pilar yesterday with my friend Genelle Balan. We are both trained chefs - and we were both floored by the food. Drinks were great and expertly mixed - the rum slushie was a treat. We started with sweet breads, which were perfect, and breaded artichoke leaves - something we had never tried before. The main courses were a beautiful Rockfish filet with fennel and a Sichuan style roasted pork shank. Truly remarkable.
Excellent brunch spot! Their mix-and-match bottomless cocktails deal is fantastic.
Came by after work for dinner and drinks with a friend. Ended up sitting at the bar on the first floor - really nice and chill bar area - not too many people there when we first got there right after work. Started to get more packed as the night continued.
I ordered the burger and fries and a few drinks. The burger was really good and the drinks were pretty good and strong. Overall it was a nice experience and I would definitely go back to try other things on the menu and their brunch and to see what the upstairs experience is like.
LOVED the French toast supremo (a sandwich)!!! The fried chicken in the fried chicken sandwich was pretty dry but the flavors were good
Yooo my first time here with my good man, we had rounds of the Cuba Libre accompanied with some appetizers. The food and the drinks - 15/10 with exceptional service provided by AJ from Bar to Isabelle the hostess. They showed such great hospitality and service. I think I just found my new spot
Bar Pilar is a narrow bar with an upstairs dining room. We ate downstairs in the bar. It's a bar, so was a little noisy, but were still able to have a nice conversation. Service was excellent. The food was fantastic, both in presentation and how it tasted. We had the roasted vegetables, butter chicken and a dumpling appetizer - all wonderful. The cocktails were tasty and had enough alcohol in them to justify the price. I don't think you can go wrong eating here unless you are looking for someplace really quiet. I never went upstairs.
AJ (the bartender) is a SUPER homie and Isabelle (our server) was phenomenal. Food was excellent as well. Cuba Libre was off the hook, pulpo ceviche was to die for. Also the music is always on point.15/10
Came for Friday happy hour (6-8 pm). Cocktails are $10 and rail drinks are $8. Great atmosphere but service was slow. Didn't mind too much because we were having a good time, but did find it odd the waitress came to our table only a few times over the course of 3 hours. Also, 20% tip is included, which wasn't super clear on receipt.
Drinks and appetizers were top tier. Nice bar area, courtesy staff, overall chill atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
Absolutely loved the customer service here. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. It was my first time here, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The food is like an Asian and Latin fusion (shrimp tempura tacos, guac burger, or zucchini fritters with sambal sauce). Normally, I'm not a huge fan of fusion cuisine but they married the 2 cuisines perfectly here. I had the braised pork steam buns (2 per order) and the shrimp tacos (3 per order) -- Both were delicious. I especially enjoyed the shrimp tacos as they were light, but packed with flavor!!! The cocktails were also great. Would definitely love to go back and try some more, even though it's a far drive from where I live. Would absolutely recommend!! 💯
Last minute decision to come here after a reservation fell through at another place and I’m glad it did! Staff was welcoming and the food was amazing. Would def come back
If you're looking for a calmer option for dinner and drinks, you can't go wrong here. The atmosphere is quiet lively and the service is on point. Our bartender was excellent gave us great recommendations from the happy hour menu (which is extensive) all of which were good. One thing worth trying if you can make it for happy hour is the Pilar Burger; you can get bacon, burger, and chicken all on it at once and it's insane. Totally worth checking out.
