Always get the lunch special ($5.99 jerk or stewed chicken meal, depends on my mood) here and the food is delicious. Also the owners, the gentleman and lady working there are very nice and provide wonderful customer service. Try this place, I guarantee you'll come back for another plate! The mac and cheese is super bomb as well.

When you think of island food you probably don't think of a quesadilla. Desmond's has the best quesadilla in town and they aren't even a Mexican restaurant! On top of that their plantains and jerk chicken is on point!

All vegan selections. Tried the popular, very tasty Rasta Pasta. Would certainly recommend this place for great tasting Caribbean vegan dishes.

The food was super delicious! You can smell the flavorful aroma of their well seasoned foods as soon as you open the door to the restaurant! 👅👅 lol My friend and I dined here and I was very content because Desmond’s was my friends recommendation… I’m a vegan so being at the restaurant was soo satisfying because I had plenty of dishes to choose from. My friend is not a vegan and she still enjoyed herself and ate a flavorful and well portioned dish. The service was fine. The ambiance was descent, plenty of seats inside and outside.

This is not my first time coming here. The owners are very patient. They food is amazing. Great place to start your vegan journey or to just try something new! I recommend the Jerk BBQ for first time! Sweet potatoes, and Tomato dried Rasta pasta is bomb.

Came here for the first time last week and WOW! Everything was twice as good as I could imagine! The smell alone when you first walk in is to die for, definitely some of the best food I’ve had in a long long time. We had the jackfruit stew and jerk mushrooms and got banana pudding and some Rasta pasta to go and the Rasta pasta was the star of the show!!! Absolutely amazing! And never in my life have I had banana pudding that good! Not to mention the mac n cheese! First time I’ve ever had vegan Mac that didn’t just taste like nutritional yeast! So so good! (I mixed mine with my rice and peas in the picture) I’ll definitely be a regular from now on! And the portion sizes were unreal! I ate that Rasta pasta for 3 meals! Only thing I personally wasn’t fond of was the stew had a very sweet flavor? But it was still decent and everything else was to die for! All the employees were also very welcoming and you could definitely tell they cared about what they do!

I have been under a rock because I had no idea this beautiful spot was here for the last 6 years!! I have always loved "island cuisine" (Especially Trinidadian) and this area has not had luck with having some really good Caribbean food. But now I know where to go!! I got some Channa Curry with authentic Trinidadian ROTI too!! And topped it off with some Island Punch. The first bite took me back to my aunt's kitchen in NY that made the BEST curry. (She made the best saltfish & bakes too!🥰). Desmond's is definitely my spot to hit for awesome food!! ❤️✊🏽💯

I love this spot and the food never disappoints. It makes me feel good to know I'm eating healthy and delicious vegan food and supporting a black owned business. My most recent visit I had the lunch special of Jerk jackfruit "chicken", over rice with collard greens and plantains. Everything was well seasoned with amazing flavors and good portions. I highly recommend this even if you're skeptical about vegan food, this is simply good food. Try it!

I've eaten here a few times and the food has always been amazing (I would go every week if I lived closer). As a Guyanese person myself, I can say this food is authentic and is like eating a home-cooked meal. There is nowhere else in the area that serves a good portion of these items (Indian restaurants don't make real roti). I've brought friends and they've absolutely loved it. Highly recommend to anyone--don't let the "vegan" tag scare you.

There is a wait, but it's absolutely worth it! The chef and staff are awesome, professional, kind, and considerate. The food is amazing... we had: Arepas, Rasta Pasta with collards and plantains, Oxtail-style Mushrooms with Jasmine Rice and cabbage, a side of plantains, the Hotstepper with chow main and sweet potatoes, wild berry punch and water from The Family Spring!!! I will be back, and I'm bringing my crew!

OMG 😳 This was the BEST FOOD I’ve had in a very very long time! I’ve been “vegan” for the last 9yrs and vegetarian since I was 15. I love to cook and most of the time I’d prefer to eat at home, but when I’m traveling eating out is required. Every single item I ordered was Delicious! The wait was long (49 minutes) so if you’re hungry order before you’re ready to eat. But the wait was so worth it and I’d do it again and again. I ordered the Mac Cheese, Plantain, Popcorn Mushrooms, Krabcake Sandwich, Peas & Rice, and Lentil Empandas, the Arepas. Yes I ordered all that and ate all of it (in a few days) The Mac was seasoned so yummy with just a hint of spice, and creamy but not gooey. Definitely going to recreate that at home. The Empanda was thick and flaky with a yummy mix of potatoes. The mushrooms were so so good! They were thick, but still chewy not greasy. The peas and rice tasted like it had a hint of airy freshness definitely had a hint of lime and cilantro. Look go now! I had no idea what a Arepas was but I do now and it’s fabulous! It reminds you or a sandwich made with yuca as the bread. It was maybe 3 types of beans, onions, and guacamole. Order everything, and enjoy it! Bravo to this place! I’d literally take the hour and 45 minute drive just to eat there again. I just left the islands in September and didn’t have any food as good. YUMMY 🤤
