Excellent food! The sushi was terrific and the avocado salad is so fresh. They offer complimentary edamame. And they brought us egg rolls on the house. Excellent service too. We will be back!

The appetizer (Gyoza/spring rolls) were very good. The sushi rolls (Hawaii, earthquake, dancing, and dream rolls were very well done and tasted delicious. Overall, I give this place a 4.6. The only thing that threw me off was the elevator music.
Service was very quick and the staff were respectful and super nice. The decor was well done and served for good conversation plus the music was very calming. The food tasted fresh and the rolls were pretty large plus we got complimentary spring rolls and cheesecake which was nice. We enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend.
Great experience on Mother's day! The service was amazing and food is always fantastic! Love all the improvements through out the years. Thank you for the unexpected Mother's day present. Will definitely keep coming to this location.

We recently just moved back to the Hampton Roads and had to visit our all-time favorite sushi spot. YamaChen just keeps getting better and did not disappoint. We ordered the Fire Shrimp, which was amazing as an appetizer. I had the Candy Cane and Christmas Tree rolls (pictured). My husband had the Dream and Twin Tower rolls. We were both pleased with the food, service, and atmosphere. They also gave us complementary egg rolls with our food and delicious cheesecake for a sweet finish. I highly recommend coming here if you haven't already!
I’ve lived in Japan and while this place does focus more on American style rolls, this is by far the best sushi I have ever had. Portions were great, roll temperatures were on point, prices matched the quality of food you got. Not too expensive. Honestly wished I lived here, because I’d come here once a week.
They had a few vegan options. I loved the veggie roll. The other pic was chicken teriyaki and chicken ramen. This trip is for vegan friendly restaurants.
It's our first time here, but it's an amazing experience. The atmosphere really sets the mood- a nice one, precisely. The menu offers a variety of foods, and the rolls here are spectacular! When we got our order we didn't expect it to be served in a boat lol. The service here is amazing as well!!
