Visited in July of 2023. Very nice bakery but very difficult to get to currently with the consturction on the road. If you're coming from the wrong direction you'll have to go down to the next light to make a U-turn.
We went around 15 mins before closing on a Thursday and there was a much more limited selection but everyone still found something they wanted. The employees told us that they bake more varieties on Friday and Saturday but we wouldn't be able to stop by on those days as we were leaving town. My suggestion would be to try and hit the bakery up earlier in the morning.
We got the pineapple upsidedown cake, the chocolate lava cake, chocolate delight, key lime pie and cranberry scone. My favorite was the pineapple upsidedown cake. Partial as I've always like this cake no matter where I get it from. My second was the key lime pie. I just like that tart contrast with the sweet crust. They also had some cool cakes that if we ever needed some in the future while visiting Virginia Beach we would definitely come here to order it. While we were there the family in front of us was ordering a birthday cake too.
Over all great baked goods, freindly staff and you can't beat their company's mission statement of helping those with disabilities with employment. We would definitely visit again in the future.
Sugar plum factory did an amazing job on our wedding cake. We came in from Stafford to get married on oct 13 and when we came in on the 12 I ended up dropping the cake we had at around 1 oclock. My wife to be was upset and we went looking for bakery. We found sugar plum and my wife went in there and we were skeptical that they would be able to get it done by 1 on the 13 but figured we would try. The morning of our wedding my wife got a call at around 9 saying the cake was ready. She was worried that we didn’t even look at it but when we opened the cake we were very happy!

I go here every year at least once. Everything always tastes really good. The Persian tastes like a homemade honey bun, the donuts are yummy and I'd recommend any bakery item.
They make amazing cakes everytime we have ordered. Super moist. Great flavors, super nice and great customer service. And, they employ people with disabilities. Hands down its the best bakery in Virginia Beach!
Love Sugar Plum. I go there every time I visit VA Beach. The blueberry and orange cranberry muffins are delucious. Anothet favorite are the vanilla cupcakes. Prices are good too. Just overall great quality.
This is a charming place that sells great bakery items for a good cause. The staff are all very welcoming and they have a variety of items to choose from. We got lemon bars, pumpkin bar, strawberry cheesecake donuts, and more. It's worth the calories xP
My first time here and this place was everything! They had a huge selection of amazing baked goods, everything I bought was so delicious! I will definitely make the drive to come here!
We'd been wanting to try this bakery for a while. We needed some desserts for a small family Easter dinner, so it was a great reason to stop by. This bakery was a pleasant surprise. There was a wide variety of choices. The cakes were decorated very well. As soon as I saw the "bunny butt" cake I knew we had to have that for the kids. (It was a huge hit and made them all laugh!!!) My husband chose some mini cannoli and rugelach. Both were a major win with his Italian/Polish family. I do wish they had some gluten free items, but I know it can be difficult for a bakery to prevent cross contamination. No judgement. Anyway, the family greatly enjoyed the desserts we brought. We will definitely return.
