Valet parking starts the great experience right from the beginning! The atmosphere was stunning yet casual! I enjoyed the oyster shooters, and the Calimari was good (I loved the banana peppers, which added a unique flavor to the calamari).
We came specifically to this location. The atmosphere in the bar is authentic, and the tourist here feels like a local. Light country music, the bar is full, it's loud and there's a lot of laughter. We were already greeted by the friendly staff at the entrance. Unfortunately, we could not get a table outside and the kitchen only accepts food orders until around 8:30 p.m., so we felt under pressure because we arrived almost at the end of the working hours. The food was average. Deep-fried schrimps were great, but the main course was too salty.

The food was good, and the service was excellent. We ate outside, and the sunset was gorgeous, making up for the crowded seating. Valet parking was a nice surprise as the place was very busy. Expect 15 - 30 minute wait time.
The view of the water with the boats passing by was lovely. I loved the pleasant and friendly service. It felt as if I was having lunch on the water. The drinks are delicious and well balanced, not too strong.

the fried flounder platter with 2 hush puppies and 2 sides I got fries with red beans and rice my hush puppies was cold and my flounder didn't have no seasoning I used salt pepper and hot sauce on my flounder
my wife had the shrimp burrito bowl she said it was delicious hot and awesome dish that she'll order it again
we had the hit crab dip with pita bread pieces for our appetizer and the came out nice and hot and it was very delicious and tasteful
I'll go back and try another dish or two
my wife also had a mango crush drink it wasn't strong at all more like a fruit juice drink
I had a coors lite
overall I was satisfied but I'll make changes the next time

We drove to Virginia Beach specifically to check this place out! The service was amazing! Kristen was our wonderful waitress. The crab dip, jumpo fried shrimp, and hush puppies were good. I was not impressed with the crab legs. They seemed like they might have been overcooked. I definitely would recommend this place if you're in the area.

Chick’s Oyster Bar is a popular local restaurant or bar to others. The great menu options with great food. I usually order the Southern Fried Shrimp or Golden Fried Flounder. The restaurant floor plan has a really cool vibe, whether you are in the dining room, patio, deck, or at the bar. Enjoy your meal overlooking beautiful water views of the Lynnhaven River. Ample parking or you can dock your boat. Valet parking is available.

I eat here all the time. However, my last visit was not good, and my wife came to eat, and we felt as though the server didn't care to serve us. But I always always always tip the servers very well. More than half of what my bill is. I don't bother anyone. I don't flirt with the servers I come I eat, and then I leave. All of my other visits are always good. chick's is a super cool place with great food and a great nightlife scene. I don't have anything bad to say. Maybe my server was just having a bad day, but I still left him a good tip,
EXCEPTIONAL! It has high reviews for a reason!!! I wanted food with a view and it did not disappoint! They have weekend specials in the bar area but only a couple of dollars off (2/3$). Staff is extremely friendly. Boats can just pull in which lets you know their clientele…. But the views and food are spectacular. PLEASE GET THE CALAMARI W/ BANANA PEPPERS. I ate the whole plate and the portions are huge. Prices are actually not that bad either for seafood in this particular area and that’s probably because you have to tip for the ‘’complementary” valet parking. 10/10 recommend and will be back again.
