Hot Tuna

Came here with my son. We had happy hour apps -reasonably priced & he got the chicken tenders and green beans. The chicken tenders are obviously made in house, which I love & the green beans were fresh & simple which is perfect for a picky eater. We shared a chocolate cake for dessert & it was the best!

Enjoyed dinner with family at Hot Tuna on a Friday night. We had a reservation for 7 PM, arrived at 6:50 and we were seated close to 7:20. Given the reservation,the wait was unexpected, but we were glad to have a reservation as there were many people turned away, or waiting significantly longer for a table. I assume its often this busy during summer weekends, so be sure you have a reservation in advance. Otherwise you can expect to wait up to two hours for a table of four around the same time and day. The food was fantastic with some of the best Salmon (Bronzed Salmon & Cedar Plank Salmon) we ever had and great tuna (Sesame Ahi) as well. Every dish exceeded our expectations! See pictures for some of the dishes we ordered. Overall, we will be coming back and will be setting our expectations for the crowds and wait times. Given how popular the restaurant is and how good the food tastes, it’s well worth the wait!

This place is a must go if you're visiting Virginia Beach, it truly is one of the best restaurants in the area. The atmosphere is great as it's formal, but still has a Beach theme. The bar is the center piece with large glass cases full of liquor present. The food was amazing, full of flavor, and was cooked perfectly. The best dishes are crab dip, calamari, and cedar Plank salmon. While the food was great, the best part was our server Aurora. She was quick, passionate, and knew what she was doing.

Atmosphere is superb! Inside had an elegant and relaxed feel, where you can dine in a dim more intimate setting or enjoy a sporty and casual type dinner closer to the bar. The outside dining was busy, lively, and people having a great time. Definitely a fun place! Drinks were delicious! We had the dragon fruit mojito, house made sangria and the Spanish Orchard. We shared the crab dip, both got the Absolut Chesapeake for dinner and finished with the cowboy skillet cookie. Dip was a 9/10 (so tasty and fresh) and the pasta was bacon loaded and 8.5/10 (wish mine had a little more shrimp and a little less bacon, but I’m extremely picky). Very good, highly recommend, and would definitely return! Our server Miller did an excellent job and the staff was very organized, seemed very “all hands on deck”, and had great attitudes. Manager came by and checked in! 10/10 experience!

My best friend and I went here for dinner. My friend got the cedar plank smoked scallop dish but the smoky flavor was too much. I got the scallop tostada dish which was yummy but only had 3 scallops. The spinach and artichoke dip was yummy for an appetizer and the beer battered shrimp appetizer was good. Restaurant atmosphere was great. Service was good. We got there at 5pm and it wasn't that busy. By 5:30pm, it was PACKED!

With the help of Makayla and team, we hosted two amazing private events over the weekend! A wonderful , magical rehearsal dinner and an “after wedding” party the next night! This team at Hot Tuna are the nicest most accommodating people I have had the pleasure of working with.. they find ways to say yes and go the extra mile to create a memorable private party!
