Great entertainment watching the chef cook your dinner. Very well trained staff. Definitely a go to place for Japanese food.

Just a fun place. Been about 15 years since last time I have been here and it was great. The cook was great and entertaining.

The food was good and plentiful. Our cook was fun and put on a great show. I don’t necessarily like the idea that you’re forced to share with another group, and I also felt like it was rushed. I could have spent more time savoring the difference dishes and perhaps enjoying some drinks from the bar but they had us in and out in under an hour. Maybe there’s a way to reserve a space for a longer period. Also, not impressed with the vegan/gluten free options as one of those in our party just had tea.

Shogun is an amazing restaurant with amazing service and food. I would recommend this place for anyone who is celebrating a special occasion or what's to have a nice dinner. Make sure you call ahead and get a reservation!

We had an absolute blast here! The food was excellent (humongous, juicy, succulent, tender scallops? Steak perfectly done to order? Awesome shrimp? Deliciously prepared veggies cooked to perfection? Perfectly cooked steamed and fried rice? Yes, please!), the host was hilarious, and the other guests were perfectly nice. The atmosphere and decor can't be beat, either! There were lots of families and friends having fun together. We definitely decided we had to come back sometime, and we will!

The food was awesome The atmosphere was great The service was great but...... our chef seemed either not very talented or just in a hurry to get done 🤔 That's why 4 out of 5 instead of a solid 5

I love coming here but the last two times I've went the guy hasn't really put on a show. We have listened while the tables behind us are laughing and getting food thrown in their mouths and cheering and things while we aren't getting that experience which is why we come. I wish y'all would make it a requirement to put on a good show to work here. But the food is always great.

My experience at Shogun Steakhouse of Japan was a mixed bag. The food was undeniably great, with flavorful dishes and skilled chefs providing an entertaining dining experience. However, I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the establishment. The tables and floors could have been better maintained. Additionally, the overall ambiance felt outdated, and the decor could use some modernization. While the food was a highlight, the lack of cleanliness and outdated atmosphere took away from the overall experience. It's a decent place for delicious food, but improvements in cleanliness and updating the establishment would greatly enhance the dining experience.

We were celebrating my grandson's honor roll achievement by taking him to Shogun. He was in absolute awe of the table side cooking and the chef had everyone smiling and in good spirits.
We had a little trouble ordering due to some confusion about our ordering 4 meals with only 3 of us present. We wanted to take home dinner to my son-in-law. Other than that, the family had a great time watching the chef prepare our food right in front of us.
I ordered The Samurai, which is sesame chicken, New York strip, fried rice and veggies. My grandson ordered the sesame chicken, and my husband ordered the lighter version of the steak meal. All of the food was very tasty and cooked just like we asked.
This place is not cheap. For four of us to eat, and a decent tip, we paid over $100. But watching my grandson's eyes light up and his keen interest in what the chef was doing made the night a lot of fun. If you are celebrating something special (and we weren't the only ones--2 birthday groups were there also), Shogun Steak House would be a really fun experience for the whole group.

PRICEY BUT DELICIOUSLY WORTH IT.
The first thing that I noticed about Shogun is that as you walk inside, your olfactory senses are inundated with smells that instantly make your mouth water.
Your journey begins in the waiting room as you anxiously wait for the host to seat you. Once seated, they take your order from the menu and serve you drinks. If you order the Dinner, your meal begins with a cup of broth with mushrooms and crispy-fried onions. Next is a lettuce salad with a house dressing that is on the lighter side. As they pick up your salad bowls, the chef begins your main course.
Your main course is more of a live show than a preparation as the chef rhythmically clangs his utensils. He spins them around his fingers, twirling them in the air and masterfully juggles them in front of your eyes. Then, that aroma comes back to you once he begins his food prep. He starts with a heaping mound of zucchini and mushrooms. Then he creates a volcano out of a sweet onion that spews forth fire and steam as if it were Pompeii in the dimly lit Italian night.
Next is fried rice that is heated to culinary perfection followed by your protein choice(s). I personally ordered the 8 oz. New York Strip with a side of scallops. The steak was as tender as though it was fillet mignon and the scallops were gigantic with one being nearly 3 inches in diameter. Just when you thought you have been fully served, next is a towering mound of bean sprouts. I recommend mixing the sprouts with your fried rice as they bring a necessary salty component to the party that finely balances the savory dish.
At this point the movie portion of your evening is complete and you are allowed to enjoy your meal with your company. To round out the meal, you are brought a dish of ice cream. Flavor choices included vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and rainbow sorbet.
Our bill, for two adults and a two year old, topped out at $83.00. With regards to the dining room and the restrooms, both were nicely kept and free of clutter and trash. I noticed that the chef cleaned the stovetop before cooking and again, immediately following his meal presentation.
Here’s the breakdown: the flavor of the meal was a perfect 10 out of 10 as it was absolutely delicious; the value of the meal (understanding the cost of beef these days) was a 10 out of 10, and the cleanliness of the restaurant was a clean home-run that scored a 10 out of 10. That’s a perfect score of 30/30 = 100% = an A.
If you want a dinner-and-a-movie type of experience that excites and awes the crowd, give Shogun’s a try. I am confident that you won’t be disappointed.
