Fresh and delicious! A friend told me about La Estrella, and when I got there and saw a line of more than 25 people, I knew this was going to be a good experience. They have so many choices, just with the baked goods, but they also sell menudo and beef tamales, as well. The apple empanada was my favorite, but the pumpkin and cherry ones were good, too. I recommend this place for whatever pastry you are looking for!
Pastries were absolutely amazing. I got a pumpkin empanada and couple other ones (I can’t remember the names) but they were tasty and fresh. A1 service!!
This place is amazing and appears to have a great impact on community. Customers were bringing in their pots for a special soup. I was there for the fresh fruit empanadas; which are glorious with a cup of coffee. Always a little line when I go; but moves very quickly. Different and unfamiliar choices to try out for me; but always fresh and good!
There may be lines every time I go, but the wait is reasonable, and the staff is very friendly. They are all non-stop attending clients and getting people in and out. Appreciate them all!!
I have been going to Estrella since I can remember you can’t go wrong with this place with anything they have to offer. My absolute favorite thing here is the simple glazed donuts. They also do all sorts of pastries, tortillas and menudo.
The staff were hard at work when I arrived. Filling lots of orders for fresh baked breads, sweets, and other items. I came looking forward to trying their glazed doughnuts which many reviews claimed were vegan. However, the server confirmed that none of their donuts are vegan so I left disappointed. I'll still give a positive review simply based on the busy-ness, they're obviously great but I just couldn't enjoy anything. Please don't come expecting to have anything that without animal products.
Passing thru Tucson from So. Cal. Most moist conchas ever!!! Awesome glaze donuts! Pina and mango empanadas were bomb! Best pan dulce in my 66 years of life.
It was our first time visiting and you could tell that this was a popular place, as there was a big line! The woman behind the counter was so personable and helpful in recommending pastries for us to try! We tested out some of the sweets on the drive home and they were great!
Got bread rolls (ajonjoli) for a barbacoa and they flew! I called 3 days ahead to place an order of 8 dozens the lady was very polite and explained the prices and different options. When I picked up my order it was ready on time freshly made and the bread lasted fresh (like fresh fresh) for 3 days. I'll be shopping here for Thanksgiving.
Glazed donuts are amazing!! Find out when they are dispensing Menudo, the line is really long at that point such great stuff and great people!
