The Hungry Greek is a local gyro chain located on Dale Mabry Highway. The restaurant was modern and clean, and the atmosphere is overall pleasing. The service was nice, although they messed up one of our orders.
The gyros themselves are excellent. They have lots of flavor, good texture, and the portions are large. The gyro may be messy, so be aware! The Greek fries were also delicious. The fries were tasty, but the addition of cheese and seasoning takes things one step further; being even better. Overall, would recommend The Hungry Greek.
Had this food after gasparilla felt a bit more health. staff was great, and the super friendly helped us with choices since im not very familiar with greek food. As far at street food in tampa goes nice little spot. Super casual feels like home. Meat was flavored well, and the portions were filling. So I'd say we will be coming back sometime soon
I ate with my parents, who had not been here before. The food was fast and very fresh. My fries were perfectly cooked. Everyone seemed satisfied with their food. The only minor issue was that the salesperson could not tell my Dad what in was in baklava; I had to tell him.
My family and I come here often. Their gyros are stuffed and taste great. Customer service is good. On most recent visit, I had a small problem with my bill which McKenzie resolved with no problem. Highly recommend for a quick, Mediterranean inspired meal.
Good place for fresh Greek food. Had the grilled veggie bowl with added falafel & humus. Cost about $15.

Had a Greek salad chopped and added chicken. The salad is really big and comes with pita on the side. I ate it there but may ask for a to go container to bring some home. I'd get that salad again but I'd also like to try some of the other items.
We were looking for a place for lunch and Yelp brought up Hungry Greek nearby. I had never eaten here before, however, the reviews were good so we called in an order.
2 Chicken Philly Gyros, a Greek Salad and Greek Fries.
I picked up the food and I was pleasantly surprised. The gyros were filled with a lot of flavorful grilled chicken, cheese and veggies. The fries were crispy and had lots of feta on them and the salad was very good. I have to say this was the best Greek takeout I have ever had and their tzatziki sauce is better than my go to favorite Greek place.
I will definitely be eating here again.
OMG.. I never knew this place was in the plaza. I friend noticed it and we ate inside. The best rice ever and the gyro meat was plentiful and so good. I'll be ordering there on a regular basis.
When it comes to Greek food, this place is the best. They have an awesome menu and the service is one of a kind. I highly recommend trying them out when you have a chance.
The food and service is great and very pleasant experience! Also the food for take out came very quickly for people on the go. :)
