The doubles here are perfectly authentic! And the very spice has kick and just the way I like it! Had a roti as well it was pretty good too but for sure recommend the doubles. Oh also recommend waiting for order outside as the incense are a little intense for a restaurant.

In the last 2 weeks, we came twice and had a chicken dalpuri roti, doubles, and fried chicken wontons.
All the food was good and we tried a few rotis these past 2 weeks from other establishments and Tara's is the best.

It’s very hard to find authentic flavors in Houston but this place is great! It has been a tradition to come here for a visit every time I come to Florida.

If you want food thats so good it makes you want to stop eating, come to Tara’s. I ate my doubles twenty minutes ago and I’m still talking about how life changing the experience was.

Really great Caribbean food. May be Trinidadian. Service wasn't really exisitant as we ordered from the bar and picked it up ourselves. Dingy area for slightly expensive food, but good portions! XL menu with lots of goodies to try! I plan on being back tho, now that I know what to expect.

First time trying Trinidadian style Caribbean food. The curry had a nice kick to it, with a good flavor. Served with red beans and rice and fresh, crisp cabbage. Very nice dinner.

Absolutely the BEST ROTI in Tampa PERIOD!. I ordered the Goat & Chicken Stew Roti. 5 STARS. The flavor was perfect! They make everything fresh and made to order....My New and Only Roti destination....Will be ordering the Oxtails next.

I need an extra star for this review. Such warm caribbean souls occupy this location and the welcoming west indian scents and aesthetics invites you home. The menu is stupendously and authentically diversed. My selection was the Buss Up Shot (Paratha) Curry Channa & Aloo (Potatoes) which was super enticing and full of so much flavor. I even had the honor of hearing several kitchen and growing up stories which of course adds to the ambiance. I walked out of home (which is how I'll refer to Tara's restaurant) to a reminder that I'm in the U.S.A. A sincere thank you to Tara and her entire staff for fostering such a clean, culturally healthy and safe environment I love calling home!!!

The 5 stars are only for the roti and the bake and buljol, that's all I've ever eaten there and I must say they've been delicious. This restaurant is only for pick up and leave because this is the worst customer service you'll ever experience if you catch Tara on a bad day. When I first started going to this restaurant I got the crap treatment but the food is so good that I just accept her for her; plus being from the Caribbean I am not new to terrible customer service and bomb ass food. Unfortunately, I didn't think the islanders would bring the same attitude to the US. I place my order, keep my head down, pay my money and leave. I think the more Tara sees your face she might treat you a bit nicer but her snide comments won't completely go away � the restaurant is reminiscent of one back home in terms of how it looks but can be cleaned up a bit. In the end, this is the only place I've ever had a roti since moving to America and I'm grateful for having it in Tampa, I just wish the customer service reflected the food.

I heard rumor of an authentic Trini roti shop in Tampa and just had to try it out. So we trekked 40 minutes from my hotel after work and found this glorious gem! The Doubles and Roti were spectacular, spot on, transported me mentally right back to my favorite little fishing village beach in Tobago. We showed up not long before closing and I know Tara wanted to be leaving soon but she was so kind to see the excitement on our faces that she not only cooked us that delicious meal to eat dine in, but sat down and had a great chat with us as well. I'd love to say there were no leftovers but I ordered WAY too much food because it was so good I couldn't help myself so she boxed it up for me to take home. Thank you Tara for the best dinner experience, I felt like a kid at Christmas tonight. Blondie and the two Baldies will be back soon!

The absolute best for indo-caribbean cuisine. Everytime I go, I am immediately transported back home to Trinidad. The atmosphere, the food, Miss Tara herself, makes it all worth while. I have had ppl try other spots in and around Tampa, but they always come back to Tara's, because once you've had the best, it makes no sense settling for less.

Tara's food is excellent. Every time we go, it's like going to Grandma's house. We come from Texas for work and we always make it a point to stop by and get some Curry Chicken & Doubles. The last time Tara even packed us some patties to take back with us. It's homey, it's not fancy but sure reminds me of Grandma's place back home.

���Terrible customer service! Don't waste your time! I called in advance to make my order . Order was accepted . I drove 45 mins with my infant to get the food. Reached 10 mins to closing , the door was closed , she was counting money inside and wouldn't open the door . She was yelling at me through the door saying she was closed . When I stood there long enough , she came to be door and informed me that she just served my food to another gentleman. I have never been treated so nasty by my own before . Caribbean people alike , we should want to extend decent service so that our establishments can expand . Clearly, Tara has been in business so long , she could careless about making an additional customer . Nasty , terrible old woman . Can't tell u about her food but her service , I wouldn't waste a dollar here . Wasted my gas and time this Saturday night ! Don't waste your time.

This was my first time at this place yesterday I ordered doubles and a dhalpuri and chicken curry I eat the doubles first as soon as I got into my car by the time I got home I started to feel nausea and diarrhea I had to call out from work today I am having severe stomach pain so literally all night I vomitted and I have diarrhea I will never go back there I spent $15.00 to get sick that's not acceptable I got food poisoning

Tara's roti shop is like visiting your family! The food is fresh, made to order and delicious. I honestly felt like I was back in Trinidad visiting my Aunty. I live in Toronto, Canada and this is the best Trini food I've ever had at a restaurant.
