It's been around since I went to Boy Scouts across the street 40 years ago. Gives me a warm feeling to see they're still here. Try the upside down banana split or a real malt, good stuff!
I'm definitely a regular at Bo's. Service is always fast and friendly and the ice cream is delish!
I'm a fan of the upsidedown banana split and the homemade ice cream sandwiches. The coffee milkshakes are yummy!
One helpful hint: ORDER SMALL! Portions are ginormous!
BO's is the BEST! Don't let the rundown exterior deter you!. I just moved back to Florida after 24 years. And "Go to Bo's Ice Cream" was written on my "To do" list!!
Having been raised in Sulphur springs, and pretty much LIVING at Sulphur Springs pool back in the 60's-70's. (My sister and I worked the concession stand, and my brother was a life guard there) Bo's was one of our FAVORITE Ice cream stops! Try The Upside down banana split!! I took a 2.5 hour drive from where I now live in Fla. to get there and I was concerned that it would be closed. YAYA- it was open! I was not disappointed!
Although it's pretty rough around the edges and desperately could use some sprucing up, the dessert tasted the same as it always had. **Note: The area is a severely dangerous/high crime area! Being a woman and traveling alone, I made sure to only have my small wallet on me, kept my doors locked and only stayed long enough to take a pic! I think the danger factor made it even more Delicious though. JS! *Not sure WHY the pic is flipped it was correct on uploading :-D
BEST ICE CREAM in TOWN. Finally went to Bo's. Friends had told us "we need to go." So glad we did!
The small is HUGE!
Very friendly, neighborhood looks rough but looks are deceiving.
Hands down will never go anywhere else for Ice Cream.
If you haven't gone to BO'S....GO you wont be disappointed!!!
If your anything like us......"we are looking forward to going back again soon." Which I am sure will be over the next week.
BO'S!. A local ice cream shop you must visit if youre in the area. Great ice cream and always friendly staff. Bring your dog along, they have an awesome dog sundae for your pooch. Def reccomend.
Childhood Favorite. I've been going to Bo's since I was 4 years old. I used to go with my mom after dance class at the rec center next door. They have great classic soft serve ice cream, the dipped cones are great as well. Butterscotch is a personal favorite. They have an addictively amazing lime freeze. Outdoor seating only! There isn't anything I have tried here that isn't delicious!
Bo's Ice Cream is a staple of Tampa.
This place is a childhood favorite. I'm 48. On a warm Tampa summer night, the AC blowing on your face as you order is a treat all it's own. Thr delectables are too many to name. But if you like ice cream it's like going to hang with an old friend.
I scream for ice cream. This place brings me back to childhood. Just a good old fashioned ice cream cone with sprinkles. Great for kids of all age, of course. I just wish they had more than one table.
In a world of plastic franchises, Bo's stands as a beacon of everything that is still good and right about America. This place is real! Dip top delight! Don't miss it!
Put a lid on it!. I love coming here but I usually get it to go. My only suggestion is to have actual to-go cups with lids so when I am driving back home with 2 hot fudge sundaes for me & the mrs, I don't get delicious fudge & ice cream all over my hands. :)
Quaint roadside dairy bar serving some of the best soft serve around. Service was quick and friendly. The atmosphere is average, but you don't go to Bo's for that.
Soft-serve is extra creamy and delicious. Portions are generous.
Highly recommend.
I live a little over 2 hours away from Bo’s, but every time I’m in the Tampa area it is a must have! The soft serve is such good quality and the prices are very reasonable. They never disappoint! I get the strawberry shortcake sundae every time, it’s so delicious.
Bo’s Ice Cream is a window service parlor located on Florida Avenue. It’s an old fashioned place, but I found the decor to be rather bland. However, the service is quite friendly. They even decided to give us a spoon and cup just in case our cones got messy.
The ice cream itself had a great texture. There’s also many flavors of ice cream. I’ve fried the Cookies and Cream and the Cherry Dipped Ice Cream. Both of them had very good flavors. Overall, would generally recommend Bo’s.
Bo's has been there, same location, forever! It is sooo delicious! Great tasting! Large portions! Affordable! Tastes the exact same as it did when I was a kid! The long lines at the window and the drive thru are testimony to their delicious ice cream treats!!! Still after all these years!!!!!
Nice little spot for ice cream, It has a drive thru. And also a seating area. I ordered an upside down banana split, I recommend this spot to stop by for a treat.
Best old school ice cream shop in Tampa! Try the dip cones or upside down banana split! Parking is easy and places to sit!
I’m not much of a soft serve ice cream fan, but being a big fan of ice cream it was hard to pass up on a historic joint. The line moved quick, there was also a drive through which the line for that extended out into the main road. I was very pleasantly surprised in the cheap price for ice cream and the big serving sizes. I had a chocolate milk shake that I sucked down very fast (should’ve gotten a bigger size). And my boyfriend had a banana milk shake, which is not for me but he enjoyed the small pieces of banana that were mixed in with the vanilla based shake.
Bo’s is a Tampa staple. A great choice for families and individuals alike. I have been coming to Bo’s for over 20 years now. I can say that it has not changed in a good way. The prices are affordable and tonight with 10 people we spent about $50 including tip. The staff are always helpful and courteous and the ice cream is always a good way to end the night. I will definitely be back soon.
So thankful Bo’s has been around all these years. I first started coming there in the late 70’s. It is still The BEST place for an upside down banana split!! We got a small for $6.00, which is plenty and a generous size.
Bo’s just always hits the spot. The family and I have tried many different flavors and this local gem just never disappoints! You’ll normally find a whole bunch of younger people working there but don’t let that fool you, they’re all very well mannered and professional. They get pretty packed on the weekends but just a few minutes on line or in the drive through you’ll start thinking they must have some Chick-fil-A experience because these kids are quick!
