Our family had a great evening. We had great food and great service from our fabulous server Carol. She explained the specials of the day, took our drink orders and brought out warm bread. It was a cold and windy day. Our girls ordered regular dinners and Carol was attentive to our table. We had plans to see a movie after. We will definitively be back again!

A good way to find a great local restaurant is to drive through town and look for the place that has the most cars in the parking lot. That's how we found Kathy's on a day trip to Staunton from Richmond, and we were glad we did. The fried oyster sandwich was delicious and so was everything else!
The service was great. The bacon waffle was pretty amazing -- nice and crunchy on the outside, but fluffy and just right on the inside with plenty of butter.
The grits were not very good at all, like they had been sitting in a warming tray for several hours. That's the only reason I gave them four stars instead of five.
First sit down restaurant we have been to since March 2020. I was so nervous, but they did a fantastic job keeping everyone spaced apart, staff all had their masks on properly, and had signs requiring all guest to wear them when not eating. Felt completely safe. The staff here was so welcoming and kind.
Now on to the meal... First time here, it was my birthday dinner... And I chose breakfast for dinner as it was suggested the pancakes were a favorite there. They did not disappoint. So light and thin, nothing like I've ever had... Will definitely return and try the roll ups for sure!

This was our first time here and it was delicious!! Ms. Carol was our waitress and she was super sweet, professional, and efficient. She made our time at Kathy's really awesome! The food was fast, delicious and cheap and I couldn't ask for more. Thank you Ms. Carol for making our time here one that was good. We will be back!
I just moved here from Texas a few months ago and had my mom in town visiting and my girlfriend said growing up, this was the place to go for breakfast. She was so right! I see why this has been such a popular breakfast place in town! I’ve been back 3 times since and everything has been delicious every time! The pancakes are VERY close to being the best I’ve ever had, they give my grandma’s a run for their money!
Kathys is one of my very favorite places to eat. The food is so good and always tastes home cooked. The restaurant is cozy and the staff is very friendly. It’s a great place to go by yourself, out on a date, or with your family to sit down and have a decent meal. It’s not super expensive either. I can’t say enough about how much I love this restaurant.
Great local spot. We went for a late breakfast. Carol provided wonderful service! Pancakes we fantastic! Everything else was really good, too. Many locals dining in, but we felt welcomed and we were quickly seated and served.
