Always delicious and fresh. The best Sukiyaki in San Diego. A real traditional Japanese restaurant. Salmon bento has a nice variety of side dishes. The tempura is nice and has a light batter. Kaki fry (oysters) wasn’t on menu but Eric said they will make it for me. That was very nice. Excellent service.

Well this was a different dining experience for me. Can I recommend this place to others? Yes I can, but for reasons that are atypical. From my perspective, the strength of this establishment is actually the ambiance. Don’t get me wrong, the food was good. My favorites were the Yakitori and the Hurricane Roll. However, the @samurai92075 environment makes you feel comfortable and welcomed such that you kinda just don’t wanna leave. And that’s…Henry’s Take. @henrystake

I had a haku martini and the dark dragon roll, both were very tasty and the presentation was beautiful! My sister had the tonkatsu dinner entree which came with rice, soup and salad, and was also presented very nicely! So glad we grabbed dinner here!

This place is awesome and one of my favorites over the last 20 something years. We had #1 and #3 combination tempura plate, chicken and steak respectively. Comes with soup, salad, sticky rice, vegetable and shrimp tempura, teriyaki steak or chicken. And the food and service is just awesome, and always has been. We also had the Samurai Sundae, truly awesome awesome tempura banana and tempura chocolate brownie served over vanilla ice cream. Wow! I had never had it before, and was very pleasantly surprised. I can't say enough, this was just awesome food and service.

Complete joke I've been to at least 25 of these places across the country and the chef wants to tell me one shrimp cut into to 5 pieces is an appetizer lol no wonder he hasn't been out much he said hes been working there for 30 years and he tells everybody that. I'm the 1st one to give somebody 5 stars in the good review but let's be real we need to forget somebody's fried rice and then you charge them $6.50 extra at the end of it to hurry up and cook it that's just not even kind of OK. It's not even that much most places to begin with. I could go on and on don't even bother ordering their sushi you might get a hand roll with about 3 scallops in there for $10. Joke

We tried the restaurant yesterday, admittedly with takeout On the positive side the food was made quickly. Overall the food had some significant flaws and I would not recommend: 1. The sushi rolls were both dried out, The dark dragon was OK. The spicy red dragon was terrible, to the point I worried that it had gone bad. It tasted bitter. Both characterized by no flavors 2. The ginger pork tasted OK but is was surprisingly overcooked for a Japanese restaurant and therefore very dry. 3. The tofu dish was average The salads that came wit the entrees had lived a very long day and the sauce had precipitated. The kelp/miso soup was pretty good. The gyosa was uninspired, no flavor in the dumplings, or the sauce. The vegetable tempura was reasonable.
