California Pizza Kitchen

First Time at a CPK. Table was sticky, menu was crumby and sticky. 2 of the 5 Waiter/Waitress were also the bar tender. Dirty air vent blowing over the drink machine. Expected more given the surrounding area. BBQ pizza was good. For the experience and quality, I wished I saved money, with a better deal, ordered frozen at home. Cpk frozen- >$15 for a LG Cpk fresh- <$18 for a Med Taste the same...

The service here is wonderful every time I stop by! Gina always goes above and beyond with her customer service and can do attitude. Also, anything you order off the menu is amazingly delicious! The location is perfect and I love that they offer curbside pick up. Thank you to the staff for always making my experience here wonderful!!

Nice location and atmosphere by the beach. However, left a bit disappointed. The BBQ chicken pizza was superb as expected. The mushroom pepperoni was good, though I should have ordered it without the sausage, but that's more on my taste. What was disappointing was the stale chips that came with the Spinach Artichoke Dip. Apparently, they ran out of chips and bought them at a store. Dip was pleasant though as normal, just wish we didn't have stale chips to go along with them, especially considering the price we paid for them. We didn't even get bread at our table that was being offered at other tables.

I had the wild mushroom pizza. Great dough, great stretch and good flour management. I would’ve liked the oven a little hotter so the crust is more moist but the restaurant was quiet so that’s understandable. 5/5 for execution The only reason this isn’t 5/5 is the recipe. This pizza needs a béchamel base sauce to add moisture and blend the cheese with the dough. The mushrooms also aren’t very wild, would pay more for wilder mushrooms. Very good

UPDATE: I called and spoke with the manager. The pizza I ordered is made with olive oil and no sauce (not clear on the menu). The server probably should have mentioned that considering no cheese. Regardless, the manager mailed me $30 in gift cards to cover the price we paid. ——————— We ordered the gluten-free crust and ordered it without cheese due to a dairy allergy (I know, what’s the point, right?). Well I’ve made many gluten-free, cheese-free pizzas at home that were delicious. Well, this one had no sauce?!?!? By the time we got it home and opened it, it was cold, too. Our best description was it was like a stale cracker with a couple pieces of dry chicken on it. I’m not exaggerating, zoom in in the picture. I have no idea why we got no sauce—truly shocked at how bad this was.
