Great place, amazing sandwiches. Engine 13 sandwich spicy level 5 is to die for. A true study of heat. Their flavored chips are also delicious. The owner is really friendly and might even perform a song or two for you if you're lucky. He's really good!
Paolo brings the love into the sandwich shop. He makes it a cool experience every time you walk in the door. And the sandwiches are creative and very flavorful.
Simply the best bang for the buck sandwiches in the area. Not your typical sandwich offerings here. The owner comes from a culinary background so each sandwich has interesting flavor and texture combinations. Be sure to try the El Centro!

Pardon me for borrowing from the bay-area lexicon, but: hella-legit.
When I walked in, Paolo and the guy making the sandwiches (I didn't catch your name, sandwich guy, but your creation was delicious!) were sitting down watching YouTube videos at the table. They got up and stood behind the counter. Paolo took my order and Sandwich Dude started making it.
Paolo said to me: "I was just showing some beatboxers. You know beatboxing?" I said I did, and that I thought it was a pretty cool art form. Paolo informed me that he had been a beatboxer when we was younger, and was good enough to win competitions. "The game has changed, though. They've elevated it." He demonstrated to me some of the beats he used to spit, which were pretty good by my standards.
But then he plugged his phone into the shop's stereo system and played me some of the recordings that they had been listening to, and I was floored. I got to sit and eat my sandwich while the world's best beatboxers were tearing up the mic. Paolo was giving me bits of information about each one: "This guy is like, a tiny Norwegian dude." "This one is a huge fat kid from the Parisian suburbs." "This guy won the international competition last year."
Oh, and the sandwich? Perfect.
I'm here a couple of times a month for some tasty and original sandwiches. This is essential Beacon Hill. It's a hangout as much as sandwich shop and word is they may be expanding veggie-meat (Field Roast?) options, which will only make it more attractive.
Amazing, amazing. The sandwiches are killer and Paolo's personality draws you in and keeps you coming back. I highly recommend.
These are the best 'sandwiches' in the city.Paola and his team prepared lunch for my clients who were being chauffered that afternoon on a "Fantastic Shopping Voyage"....the ladies commented how delicious, tasty and scrumptious they were and how fresh the baquettes were.......absolutely "FABULOUS"
Simple little sandwich shop. Limited selection but service was excellent and my sandwich was always delish. Actually visited a couple times.
Small spot. Super friendly and helpful staff. Great sandwiches.
