I have driven by Willie's for the past 5 years and never stopped until today. My boyfriend and I had Oxtails, BBQ Ribs and Chicken, and Jerk Chicken; along with Mac n Cheese, Greens, and Yams. Everything was on point especially the BBQ Ribs. The meat was falling off the bone! The jerk chicken was so flavorful and the mac n cheese was cheesy. I would recommend Willie's Taste of Soul to anyone who want some good ole soulfood.
Me and my wife went to Willie's Taste of Soul a good while back and it was a good dining experience the service was friendly and welcoming regardless of how many requests we made close to closing time and the food was delicious and definitely did not skip out on the portions this place is definitely worth a try

The best ribs in town. The meat just falls off the bone. I don't care for baked beans because everyone makes them too sweet, but these baked beans are perfect. Not too sweet, smokey flavor, very nice. I'm here for lunch, service is fast, food is super hot (had too blow to cool it off, major plus). I'll be back for sure.
Not nearly as bad a rap as it gets. Brisket is just a bit less moist than I would like. Too much sauce overall (regardless of items). But the ribs are literally fall of the bone, and the flavor is solid. Same with wings. Really impressed with the hot links as well. The baked beans are super good, but the corn bread is nothing special.
Complaints about table service or not seeing a menu are user error issues. Walk up to the counter, look at the menu, order, sit down, wait for food.
I don't normally write reviews but this BBQ is worth taking the time to do such. The ribs were perfect. They don't fall off the bone (good thing) but when you bite into them you get exactly what your going for and Melts in your mouth. The chicken breading was crispy but not so much that you feel like your getting just breading. This isn't a fast food restaurant so give a little time for food but that is to be expected for actually fresh BBQ!! Will definitely go back and maybe have a whole turkey fried for a family gathering because he does this too i found out.
Delicious soul food. I called ahead of time and my order was ready when I arrived! :) Yes! I appreciate when businesses are cognizant of my time! Thanks for the great food and the hospitality. I used my busking tips to buy some amazing food. My stomach and spirit were pleased. I will definitely come back.
A very good environment, definitely good soul food and service
I love Willie's food. Last night I enjoyed a BBQ combo of brisket, chicken and ribs with mac and cheese and greens on the side...delicious! The restaurant won't win any awards for decor, but with friends to dine with I don't mind. Willie's has a big delivery business through Grub hub and other delivery services.
The catfish was fried to perfection, in a tasty cornmeal coating, and served piping hot. Loved it! The southern style greens were delicious as well. I sampled one of the pork ribs also, and it was smokey and fall off the bone tender. It was smothered in a spicy and sweet bbq sauce. Will definitely come back.
