I was recently diagnosed with Celiac disease and have been very fearful of eating out. The waitress this afternoon was very helpful with everything on the menu and when she told the kitchen of my dilemma they even cooked a few things as not to have any cross contamination! To top it off, the food was amazing and I literally finished everything on my plate! Thank you for a wonderful brunch out with my family!!
The food was wonderful and the atmosphere was so enjoyable. If you are looking for over attentive service, this may not be the place. But, it was perfect for the gathering that we had. And we were there on a Tuesday night, so it was very relaxed. I am in hospitality and I totally recommend it!
The service is a bit slow but it’s a cute establishment and the server was so kind. The house made sausage and broccoli were delicious. The pasta was not my favorite the pesto was too watery for my preference.
I absolutely loved it. Our host/waiter was friendly and we got our food in a reasonable amount of time. The place looked very charming inside and out. I want to order the sardine pasta (not what it was actually called) dish again!
Service was fantastic, and the food is so fresh and delicious! I ordered the durum spaghetti with clams/mussels, and it was probably one of the best pastas I've had. The spaghetti was so fresh and packed with flavor. Also ordered the chocolate budino with raspberry purée for dessert, and it was so delicious. The only thing is I wish the portion sizes were bigger for the price, but I would definitely come back here again!
Really confused about the negative reviews for this place. Sounds like folks wanted something other than Italian?? We were blown away by how good and understated this brunch was. No lines, EXCELLENT mimosa deal, and the handmade pasta??? Aghhh! I was extremely happy about my raw egg on top that I was encouraged to toss into my pasta sauce to make "extra gooey". Course if you arent as into raw egg like me, you can get something like chicken and waffles. So good!
I came here on Sunday lunch and it appeared this was a special brunch menu. I was a bit disappointed because I was expecting genuine Italian food.
I had a kale salad which was really good and then aj omelet which was ok. Service was ok too.
Great place for a special night out. The pastas are incredible. Also love the soups, polenta fries, and broccoli. Good cocktails, too.
Excellent food and friendly service. We had the carrot arancini, grilled octopus, fig and onion caramelle, and squid ink pasta. Everything was delicious, and perfectly paced. Dinner felt leisurely, but at no point did I wonder where our server was. This is a great date spot, or place for a quiet dinner with a small group.
They don't have a good pasta selection for brunch. They seemed understaffed, service was pretty slow.
Update: I'm increasing my review to 5 stars. I just returned from a small work dinner. The four of us had the chefs choice / family style meal. Each dish was well executed and interesting. Great service. Really couldn't be happier. Probably my favorite meal out in 2019.
I'm leaving my previous review for reference:
My past experiences here would have merited 5 stars, but my most recent experience (first in the last year) would have merited 3 stars.
Pros: This is a restaurant that is actually amenable to conversation - reasonable acoustics are ever harder to find in Seattle. Dishes that come out as intended can be quite amazing (I've had great fish, chicken, and shellfish dishes here in the past). I usually have great experiences with the chefs choice / family style meal. This had been one of my favorite places for business dinners with 4-6 people, but it also works well for other occasions.
Cons: My most recent meal here had significant service issues. Very slow and many dishes didn't make it to the table at their best. Think salad that had seemed to have been plated earlier in the day, apps that should be served at room temperature that came straight from a fridge (cold plate and all), and pasta that had cooled to room temperature by the time it made it to the table. Fortunately, the main course (seared black cod) was perfect. I hope that this was just an off night for the restaurant.
My partner and I had a great time here. The food was really good and the service was great. We were lucky enough to go when it wasn't too busy.
The family style meal is definitely worth it. It's just a pity we got a small dish of pasta which is what they pride themselves on (so we were told). Was all still good regardless. Definitely worth a try :D
