My group and I came without reservation. Had to wait about 1hr to get seated. I highly recommend to make reservation because this wait will get super long…... The food was tasty and good quality.!.!.!.! We ordered mentaiko creamy udon, uni creamy udon, chicken negi yakitori, okonomiyaki, takoyaki, chicken katsu don, JFC don and more. Our favorite was yakitori and the creamy udons. Also their yuzu Jell-O shot was a good drink! I would say one downside of atmosphere is that the smoke doesn’t get fan out well and we felt a bit smoky while dining.

My husband and I like to go during their happy hour (2 hours long!!!). Their HH menu is big and their normal menu is also very reasonably priced. The plates are on the smaller end so the bill can still add up. Overall the food is great and the vibe is very much like a Japanese izakaya in Japan. The only downside is their drinks selection is quite small and they don't do any cocktails in house.

Really delicious food, amazing happy hour, friendly staff, fast service of freshly cooked food. I really likes the small plates so we could share and try so many things. My husband brought me here for our anniversary to try something new and it did not disappoint. I’m looking forward to eating here again soon!

This is such a good izakaya! I am pretty suspect of izakayas in America but this one actually slaps. Everything we ordered came out very quickly in small sharing portions. It was packed and buzzing with energy which made it more authentic feeling. We sat at the bar and they handed us our food on a super long peel which is something I've only seen done in Japan! Loved the sashimi and the special shima aji (striped jack) sashimi which was sooo good we kept ordering more. The skewers were good but I liked the ones at secret fort more, but I 10000% like this place more than secret fort because the service is quick and your food comes out fast whereas secret fort takes way too long. It shouldn't take an hour for 8 skewers to come out.

信じられない ~ ! The happy hour here is next level in both price and quality! House fills up shortly after 4:30 and we now know why; ISSIAN is my #1 spot in Seattle for authentic Japanese cuisine. The flavor of every dish was perfectly balanced in both form and flavor. I highly recommend the masu sushi and agedashi but everything was wonderful really. The service was quick and pleasant, we sat at the bar and you can tell that the culinary staff are highly skilled and professional. ISSIAN is a must for any lover of Japanese food.

Amazing food. Got the chicken karaage which was delicious, paired well with the fries and wasabi mayo. Then the yakatori was also amazing, and reasonably price. However it’s not charcoal grilled, it’s gas grilled. Still tastes delicious, the chicken with green onion, pork belly and bacon were my favorite yakitori. Also the sushi was only mid in my opinion. Decent for price, wasabi was very flavorful! The baked fish (saba mackerel) was also phenomenal

Had a great experience eating at ISSIAN. Missed a lot of Japanese Restaurants back home and ISSIAN is now a staple for me here in Seattle. If you want authentic delicious Japanese food, this is the place to go! Service was great. Only con would be the wait times. Even when I had a reservation, it took a bit of a while to get seated. Regardless, the food made up for it! Oh

Came to this place for the Japanese skewers and they did not disappoint! But in my opinion, the hidden star of the meal was the grilled Saba. The grilled was was so well done that I would come back just for it. The service was good and we didn't have to wait but we arrived very early. Cool place with high value Japanese food

I liked the Kobe skewers and salmon sashimi. The dynamite roll is nice and spicy. The beef tongue was so tender but unfortunately it’s very oily and lacks seasoning. The tuna tartar was decent.
