Jay had set up a meeting with Meech Crowley, in marketing with Pyramid, so while we waited on her, it was time for a sampler platter of beers! The deal was, you get to choose 5 of the beers on tap, and that was no easy task. I went with the Audacious Apricot Ale, Curve Ball Blonde Ale, Thunderhead IPA, Draught Pale Ale, and a special Dark IPA they had on tap. The Audacious Apricot Ale really stood out at first, a delicious fruit beer which is a hard balance to obtain. The Curve Ball Blonde Ale is a great l

After wrapping up with drinks and a snack at The Pike Brewing Company in Seattle Part I , Eric and I took a nice little walk to SoDo where we found the Pyramid Alehouse right next to Safeco Field, home of the Seattle Mariners. Stop number two on our Frida
Wonderful Apricot Wheat Ale and good chocolate cake!. Since Pyramid Brewing is located in the stadium district of Seattle we both knew to play our cards just right in order to avoid throngs of people. We picked a time during the midday and during the midweek.
There is parking in the front of the brewery but in the back there is another parking lot which is where we parked. It sounds like a paid parking lot but if you are dining at Pyramid then you are good.
We were spreading our eating and drinking throughout the day so we did not get a meal here but everything looked very promising!
Pyramid Brewing is a big company which also encompasses Portland Brewing(The Portland Brewing branch puts out a very intriguing Rose Hip beer) as well as a few others. After my last experience with a big company brewery(Red Hook) I was worried that the beer may not be all that good. And I was wrong.
I tried several of their beers. A Pale Ale sampler for one which was good. An Octobefest which also was very good. But the beer that completely bowled me over was their Apricot Wheat Ale. The beer is indeed very Apricoty but not too sweet to make it unpleasant. It was just a fine tasting beer all the way around. My concerns on the beer quality vanished.
Of course Steve and I got the munchies and we split an order of a chocolate cake that was infused with a hot pepper of some kind which made the cake almost a kind of godsend.
The time we picked to come to Pyramid was perfect. We had good wait service, everyone was chill and so on. I can forsee Pyramid being crowded just before a game and probably long wait times which inevitably will cause frustration and impatience but coming here during an "off time" was just perfect.
Awesome Happy Hour. My dad and I came here for dinner on a non game night - still quite packed for a random Thursday night in January. He ordered the fish and chips and raved about them - solid pieces of fish with the perfect amount of batter and cooked perfect (not soggy, not too much breading, crispy but not overdone). His meal was pricey - just under $20 if I remember correctly. I was more interested in a small snack and stumbled upon the happy hour menu - which was awesome. I had a hard time choosing between several low priced options but settled on the $3 pretzel and cheese which was super tasty. Would highly recommend. Awesome place to be in Seattle when the sun comes out (as long as it isn't a game day).
Have also had the pulled pork tacos and would not recommend them. They are overly juicy which makes them difficult to eat. The flavor wasn't anything to write home about.
Great service at the bar...bartender very knowledgable about the beers. Food is great. Don't try to come here during a football or baseball game to truly enjoy the greatness of this place. Hail to Apricot Ale!
Best avoided when there's a home game, otherwise a good bet. I've eaten here a number of times. Food is average but nonetheless typical for a large microbrewery. The beer range and quality is good. The outdoor patio is very pleasant on a warm summer day.
As the title says avoid on a game day. While the staff are very good it can get extremely busy and cramped due to its proximity to both stadiums and the staff can get run ragged.
Beer is good! My Argentine skirt steak was marinated well and cooked to my liking. The atmosphere is nice especially after or during a ball game.
So close you can practically reach out and touch it. Pyramid is a great restaurant on non game day and on a game day they're crowded and noisy with the folks trying to eat and drink before going to the game. The foods good, the beer is great, the service is great if you don't show up on a game day. I've been there on a game day and I don't know how they keep up with the crowd but somehow they manage.
What a fun place. Great food and Awesome service. Knowledgeable about the food and beer. Definitely will continue visiting.
Very nice beer selection and of course their famous Hefeweisen. Amazing tanks and friendly staff. Looks like a great event place or before/after a Mariners game (right across the street)
Stopped in before a Seahawks game and boy does it get busy. Nice pregame set up out front of the brewery for both teams. Drinks were good but even the mixed drinks came in plastic cups... might have just been because it was a game day. We ordered the fish tacos, garlic fries, fish & chips and a burger. Everything was good, although the garlic fries were a little more oily than I would have preferred. Service was slow but since it was game day can't really fault them for it.
Came here for brunch on Sunday. Parking is free if you are dining here. Excellent beers. Tried local brewed peach ale. Went well with my chicken burger and garlic fries.
We visited from out of town for a Mariners game and enjoyed a great beer outside beforehand. This was perfect for that. It’s right across the street from the stadium and was a wonderful environment of other fans. I had the citrus IPA, which was fantastic.
Beer, food, stadiums across the street.
What more do you need????
Free parking, free Wi-Fi, decent beer brewed in the building = awesomeness.
Stopped in a few years ago after a Seahawks game. The atmosphere was incredible and the beer was great. Even though the Seahawks lost, nobody was too down about it... if they were the beer was helping out. Game days are incredible!
Not many dark beers to choose from which seems like there should be more as it is wintertime right now.
Great food. Nice opem area and friendly staff.
Food was good, the atmosphere was open and active, located right across from the stadiums. Met a friend here for a beer and to grab some dinner and had a great time. Wide variety of beers on tap to ensure that almost anyone that enjoys beer (of some kind) will find something that they'll enjoy. Food was good, pretty typical pub fare. I went with the blue burger and was very happy. Service was good and I can only imagine that this is THE place to be for a beer when the weather is warm and there is a game about to start.
I've been there several times during midday lunch and it is typically slow. But that's a good thing - it's quiet, it's comfortable and it's super easy. The food is great, and the drink selection is great for a half pint or something on your lunch break. However, it's pretty packed on the weekends and some nights (sports events, typically, since the stadiums are right there).
Great place for food and a cold beer before a game at Safeco or Century Link. Expect a crowd most nights though. Outside beer garden is The fast route when your in a hurry. The beer is good but rarely incredible. Food the same with a few notable exceptions. Fish and chips star alongside burgers on this diverse menu. I hear the sausages are great. Prices are reasonable and the service is usually good but again expect a wait. It gets standing room only with a waiting line to get in.
