I came to Jak's Happy Hour for the first time in a while w my hubby. We came at exactly 4 o'clock and sat at a high table and chairs. I love their bar area and philosophy. Service guy is a super nice and good talk.
We ordered 2 of Jak's Cheeseburger with Sweet potatoes fried and some drinks. We asked for medium-well for the doneness of the meat. It was perfect grilled burger and juicy meat. I ate all the sweet potato fries.
We finished our meal in just 30 minutes, and there were two couples waiting for a seat. It's worth the wait at happy hour!
This is the place for an amazing steak! Some have said it's too dark in the restaurant? Really? It's a steakhouse! And it feels like you go back to the 1940's! I love this place! The atmosphere is so relaxing, and you actually feel like you are in a different era. Its hard to explain, but I really enjoy it!
The steaks are so so so good, and everything else is just amazing. My wife and I go here every year for our wedding anniversary dinner. You just can't go wrong! And the desserts are also so so good! I love Jaks! Oh, the bar serves up some great drinks too!
Very busy and charming place, especially during the West Seattle Summer Fest.
Made a reservation and requested to sit in a more secluded/quiet table in the restaurant. They definitely delivered and managed to seat us at the 2nd floor, away from the loud atmosphere outside.
Did not mind the dim lighting nor being away from everyone.
Ordered their Bacon Wrapped Scallops to start which was soooooo yummy. The combination of salty, savory and sweet (watermelon based sauce) was surprisingly wonderful.
Followed with their newly created dinner item which is shown: Asian inspired Alaskan Halibut in an umami broth accompanied by carrots, bokchoy and mushrooms. All of the flavors of the dish reminded me a glimpse of home.
The customer service at Jak’s is unmatched! The staff is friendly and accommodating. We had a somewhat large party and one overcooked steak, but they were patient and kind throughout. They fixed the issue and comped the meal that was overcooked, which was completely unnecessary and a very pleasant surprise! THAT’S how you create loyal customers. I couldn’t recommend Jak’s eggs Benedict more if you’re there for brunch. It’s UNBELIEVABLE!
We had a very tasty meal at JaK's Grill. We started off with crab cakes and Brussel sprouts. Both dishes we'll have again. The prime rub was delicious - seasoned and cooked perfectly. The Butternut Squash Malfadine was creamy with a variety of flavors to experience. Loved the added walnuts for texture. We'll be going back soon!
I’ve been going to Jak’s for years, and each time I go the experience is always great. Even though I live out of the city, I’ll make the trip over when I can because the service is fantastic and the food is wonderful! Make a reservation if possible, sometimes the wait is long without.
P.S. ask for UFO style next time you order a steak

It's our Monday dinner spot almost weekly. Monday offers a hard to beat prime rib dinner at a great price. Mon-Fri offers an amazing happy hour (at the bar) with an incredible 1/2 lbs burger and fries for $8, and if you get the chance for Friday lunch, the fish sandwich is a particular favorite of mine. A must check out place if you're in the West Seattle neighborhood.
My daughter and her husband took me here for my birthday dinner while I am in Seattle visiting. The atmosphere was pleasant and inviting. The staff was welcoming and friendly. I had the filet medium rare with mashed potatoes broccoli carrots. My daughter had the same. My son-in-law had the New York strip. Everybody's meal was tasty and cooked well.
Typically come in towards end of night and pull up a seat at the bar. The bartenders are fantastic and Carry is wonderful. Everything is great here, but the bone in porch chop is my absolute favorite. We come here almost every week, that’s how good it is.
Our family loves Jak's in West Seattle. For Weekend Brunch the Eggs Benedict is one of the BEST in all of Seattle because their eggs are almost always perfect (yoke is soft and runs) and I suggest subbing the potatoes for the Potato Pancakes (yum!) or go with the Jak's Bene that is steak paired with the potato pancakes as the base. Their Bloody Mary's are solid and pair well with the Bene's, and if you are there for dinner they excel at steak with great sides. Service is always good.
